Remarks
Lucky to get admitted to the college which stands Second in West Bengal. I hadn't applied to any colleges and hence there are no second chances. The admission process was pretty untroubling. Satisfied the admission criteria which looked for 60% marks in 12th boards and no red marks on Result. Age wasn't a factor then, so can't really write about it. On counselling day, we were allocated a time slot on a certain day, if I remember correctly, it was 26th June 2017. They were calling out our names randomly and on reaching the dais, we had to display our results and 12th Admit card. They verified everything and welcomed each of us. Right after counselling, everything including submission of admission fees was covered online. Classes started on 2nd July.
Course Curriculum Overview
Had chosen this course because I had a pretty interest in this subject and hadn't opted for engineering. The faculties are pretty decent and helpful. We were 96 students when admitted. Few of them shifted to different colleges of their choices. Most of the faculties were educated and experienced enough and held higher degrees. The term exam took place twice a year, six months per semester. I had never taken an exam that was supposedly "easy". The questions were set by teachers from different colleges and they had standards. On average they were moderate, not too tough or not too easy.
Internships Opportunities
There were few internships and to be honest Students prefers Out Of Campus internships. Few of them were online too. I remember TCS once carried out an internship program for Web Development and another Company (I don't remember the name) came with an internship opportunity on AI/ML. They looked for potential students with an interest in proper learning and skill development. They used to hand over a project and guided me throughout the entire time.
Placement Experience
We got placement offers from the 5th semester. I remember TCS, Capgemini and a farm company I don't remember the name. Others I hadn't attended. Few of my friends got placed and with an average starting payment of 30k / month.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees we paid was pretty low when compared to private colleges. The only fees hike we experienced was Tuition fees which hiked 200 per semester. There were scholarships but most of them were bound to SC/ST guys with higher CGPA.
Campus Life
An annual fest took place every winter and there were pretty few workshops throughout the year. The classroom we had was pretty large, accomodating an AC, projector, smartboard and WiFi network. The floor was marbled and the room was spacious and comfortable. Sports is a major concern of our college and many students participated in the annual sports meet. It was two days and one night meet. Pretty enjoyable.
