Raja's Review On KLN College Of Engineering - [KLNCE], Sivaganga

You need to wear the uniform for all the four years they have only 4 color code green, Brown, Dark blue, light blue while joining if you got Brown color, You need to wear that same color uniform throughout the four year as they used to differentiate the batch students only via the color code.

KLN college of Engineering which is also called as KLN which is located in Pottapalayam, Sivagangai dist is one of the best college in Madurai surrounding. Got selected to this college via Anna university counseling. The reason for why I selected this college is because of the teaching and the ON-CAMPUS. Before the year 2010, Next to TSM in Madurai, this is the second college where most of the companies used to come for recruiting the students via ON-CAMPUS.

It was pretty good, the staffs are well trained all the subjects are common for every dept in first two semesters post that the students will study on their own major subject that they have selected in final year, We will get an option to select the elective subject, but to be frank they wont provide much elective options as they cant afford different staff for different subject for example, If Anna university have 6 elective subject then our college will give us option of only 3 elective subject in which we need to select anyone of it.

Our KLN college have a tie-up with DELL and HCL companies every year few members will come from DELL and HCL and they will provide the internship training and provide us the certificate post the successful completion during training period, they will conduct many lab sessions and examinations to the students to check how much they learned.

The number of companies which are coming to recruit the students in ON-CAMPUS got reduced from the year 2010 but to be frank, before 2010 most of the companies used to come to my college for recruiting the students and most of the other college students also used to come to my college for attending the interview.

To be frank we never celebrated any events in my college. they used to conduct Annual year function every year which wont be good as they used to give lot of rules and regulation which needs to be followed during that time in dept wise, every alternate year we used to conduct Symposium or conference we used to enjoy the symposium which we used to conduct third and Final year students are responsible for conducting such events.

Fee structure is open the transportation is bit costly in our college but no other option to use public transport as the college is not near to the city. The students are allowed to come in their own vehicles which is good as they provide separate parking for student's vehicle.

Since it is the sourastra college, they used to give the scholarship to the sourastra caste students and they will also give some money to each sourastra students every year.

Gender ratio there wont be much difference it will be almost same the college is poor in extra curricular activities labs ok they used to differentiate the batch students by giving different color code uniform the thing that we hate is we need to wear uniform daily other than Friday, That too same color uniform for all the four years.

I am a day-scholar student so don't have much idea about the hostel the foods are ok obviously we cant expect the good food in hostel because its not our home, its a HOSTEL the sharing is based on the room size the laundry facilities are available both gents and ladies hostel are inside the college campus.

The used to conduct two or three alumni meets every year in different place like Bangalore, Chennai and Madurai they wont send any personal invite to our home, they used to post in FB.

We used to have a test on every Tuesday morning for each subject/week the lab assistants used to help a lot to learn about the practicals during lab hours. The dept primary concern is only studies due to which we wont have outing from college whenever we ask the leave or anything else, they used to ask how much we scored in exam.

The admission process is very simple, once we have selected the college in counseling they will approach us to fill the form with the details about the schooling, the marks which we scored in all the subjects, the subject which I like to do in engineering etc.

The first and second floor is only for ECE dept where all the dept faculty will be in first floor the lab assistant will help a lot in lab session rather than the teaching staff as the lab assistants are more experienced in those stuff the issue is they wont give the most of the good working equipment to students for practicing. they will take the good working/new equipment only on the sem practical examination time.
