OVERALL A GOOD COLLEGE TO START UR JOURNEY!

Colleges applied: Top NIT's and IIIT's CSE ECE branch, BIT Mesra ECE, CS, IT and NIT Jamshedpur ECE, CS, EEE. ADMISSION PROCESS: The admission process was conducted purely online by JOSAA and further for vacant seats CSAB takes the charge. To get into these colleges you really need to score a good rank in JEE mains.JEE advanced rank has nothing to do with it. My choice:: My rank was in between 25k-28k so I was left with only two choices where I was getting a decent branch. I chose NIT Jamshedpur EEE over BIT Mesra ECE after a long discussion with my parents and friends. I didn't regret my decision as I found the college almost perfect.

Course: Electrical Engineering is basically a core branch where you get to know about the working of electrical machines and devices. The syllabus is actually vast but here at NIT Jamshedpur, the workload is very little. Faculty: The faculty here is average but all are Ph.D. scholars from prestigious nits and IIT's. You will also get some very good professors here. The student to faculty ratio here is 1:10. Exams: The exams are conducted two times per semester.One in mid-semester which we call mid-semester and the last one which is called end-semester.In online mode, you can easily score 8+cgpa. Some professors won't give you good marks but overall you can score a decent cgpa here without working too much on subjects.

Internship opportunities: As far as I know some of my engineers got internships at amazon, Samsung R &D and some did get internships from the ministry of electronics and communication. Projects and outcomes: If ur project is well, it will give u an edge over others to get a good intern. If you do well during ur internships, you may also get PPO(Pre-placement offers).

Eligibility: After 2nd year you can apply for internships. The final placements start from starting of the 4th year and some students also get PPO. Placements: Placements are actually good here. Tata is nearby to our college so it recruits core as well as non-core engineers in bulk. Packages offered: This year the highest placement is 30lpa offered by Amazon and the placement process is still going on. Percentage: About 80% are well placed at different companies like One plus, Goldman sachs.The average package was 7lpa last year for all branches. My plans: I want to get a decent job at any tech giant company and if possible will move towards higher studies.If u want to crack GATE then here u will get the group to study in a planned manner and ultimately crack it with ease.

Fee Structure: The fees here are quite low as compared to other engineering colleges. Fee remission: There are certain remissions in tuition fees for sc/st, obcs based on certain terms and conditions. Campus: Various big companies come here to recruit such as amazon, Goldman Sachs, etc.

1.Culfest is the annual cultural fest held every year, it is organized at the national level and different colleges from all over India participate in it. The cultural fest consists of competitions for dance, GD, antakshri, and a fashion show.Other attractions include a jukebox, paper dance,x-games, rock concert.The CELEBRITY NIGHT is the most awaited thing in the year. 2.OJASS is the annual tech fest held every year which is the largest in the eastern side of India. 3.Sports meet-It is one of the most favorite fests of all the time. As the name suggests, various cricket, football, badminton tournaments are held among each and every branch of the college.

HOSTEL FACILITY: Every student has to mandatorily live in the hostel as provided by the college. But you don't have to worry as you will not get the hostels like these even at any top 5 nit's. For the first years, partners have to live together. But from second year onwards, single room will be provided. The hostels are called mega hostels here as they are actually big and holds up to 1200 students in one big apartment. The mess is separate for all years and there is a small canteen at the college premises. Registration Process: The hostels are allocated automatically by the management as soon as you get admission and called on campus.
