Remarks
I applied for AKTU colleges via my UPSEE rank which was 1968(General). I belong to the general category so i do not have any quota. I applied for IET, Lucknow, ABES Ghaziabad, AKGEC Ghaziabad and JSS, Noida. My main preference was IET Lucknow and then JSS. But my rank was not meeting the required criteria for IET Lucknow computer science and engineering branch, so i chose JSS Academy Of Technical Education Noida and the Computer science and engineering branch. The cutoff for CSE branch in JSS is around 3500. The admission process was smooth and fine. The college authority asked us to bring the required documents whose details were given beforehand. I gave them the required documents and they provided me necessary college credentials.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose CSE mainly because of placements as compared to other branches. The placement ratio is more as compared to other branches. The faculty: student ratio is good. Every branch has about three sections divided. The faculty support is good. Most of the faculty teachers are well qualified. There are PHD holders, many of them have M.tech degrees and they are well trained. The teaching method is good. There are three sessionals or internal exams each month. One of them is a pre-university test which is of 60 marks which contains the whole syllabus and two are of 30 marks. The difficulty level is moderate. At last, there is the end sem exam which is of 100 marks each subject. The subjects vary according to the semester.
Internships Opportunities
College provides internships to students in every domain such as app development, web development, and many more. The stipend is offered as per students' work. They get a nice stipend. The companies ask for projects if done any or any individual contributions in a big project to check students' knowledge about the field. The companies work with students on projects which are helpful from a placement point of view.
Placement Experience
The placements are mediocre not too good not too bad. The average placement for the CSE branch is 4 LPA. From the 6th semester students become eligible for placements. Till then they do internships. Companies like adobe visits only for girls. Kronos, Wipro, tcs are some of the companies which come on campus. Last year kronos gave around 16 LPA to three students. Most of the students apply off-campus for a better salary. Of 300 students in CS and IT branches around 90 get placed on campus. One student got 40 LPA from adobe. I am planning to do the crack Gate exam and to Mtech from IIT.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fees are approximately 112000 for 1 year and the total fees of college for 1 year is around 120000. It includes wifi fees, book charges, and other maintenance charges. The hostel fees for 1 year are around 93000. There is no fees hike policy as such. The fees are approximately the same for every year. In addition, there are semester exam fees which are around 8000 per year. The college provides scholarships to students who are financially not too strong. The basic criteria are that parents' annual income should be less than 2 lakh rupees. I did not meet the requirements so I do not have any scholarship. I am in my 2nd year so currently, I do not have a job right now.
Campus Life
The college's annual fest is Zealicon which is held in the month of March. All the main events and tech fests are held inside Zealicon. The books and journals are permanently available in the library. There is a book bank section in the library through which students get their required semester books. There are also books other than semester books according to students' needs about most of the technologies. The classrooms are well maintained. There are amenities also. Every class has a strength of about 65 students. There are sports and extracurricular activities. There are separate rooms for chess, carrom board. There is a gym inside the college. There is a big playground. Students play cricket, football, and volleyball. There is a college cricket team also. There are many social groups and clubs run by students. There is Nibble Computer Society which is run mainly by the CS department. There developer students club, Microsoft Mobile innovation lab society. There is a college website info connect also
Hostel Facilities
There are girls as well as boys' hostel. In the boy's hostel, every room has three students. There are three beds, three Godrej almirah, one fan, and a big study table inside the room. Every room has three chairs. There is no cooler. Students have to purchase a cooler on their own and there is no electricity bill for that. There are separate ISH boys hostel which has AC rooms. The mess menu is good. Meal quality is average. There is breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In addition, there is also snack time around 5 pm. The water cooler is available inside the hostel mess. If you have got JSS college during counseling and have taken a seat in college you can register for a hostel on the same day. They will tell you to submit the fees and you will get your room. The room will be allotted by the College authority only. The fees are 93000 and hostels are affordable as compared to private hostels outside the JSS campus. I have not rented a room or PG outside the JSS campus.
