Remarks

I applied for many colleges given entrance exams too. But luckily I got cleared the exam from Amity University and Manav Rachna. At starting was very confused then explored some reviews about both the colleges and decided to go forward with Amity University. The admission process at the Amity University of Food Technology was very smooth, they first took my general knowledge with English test of 100 marks, to pass 50 marks were needed. Then there was 10 minutes interview session on the course chosen. There were 4 teachers asked about my past college experience, questions about nutrition, why I decided to go forward with the same subject and What growth I see that amity can provide. After the interview round they told me the results will be updated on my given registration profile in 2 days. I cleared the test and interview. Afterward, they took our counseling session it was one on one discussion with the professor of the same field. They told about our options in future and goals we can decide.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

My passion for food and Nutrition was the main reason I chose this course. The faculty was so knowledgeable and helping us to reach our goals. Choosing our career path and help us explore which is the field of foods of Nutrition we can take. Teachers also used to take some sessions to tell about future studies we can do or jobs demand nowadays. The faculty made us learn each and every detail of our course. Term exam was used to happen every semester with internal exams in between. We were given internal assessments which help us explore different areas of interest. Also, the report writing and summer internship was an important part to help us more.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The internship was offered was from different fields like if a student wants to go on public nutrition they were given options of Nutrition Foundation of India, Public health foundation of India, ICAR. If students want to go to food labs the options were FICCI, FDA, FSSAI, CFTRI. And If students want to in a food company the options were Britannia, Amul, Mother dairy, Halidram, etc. Some students Manage to find internships on their own. No stipend was given by any company or organization as we are gone for our research reports.

Placement Experience

3

Placement sturcture was good. We were earlier given opportunity to get in touch biggest organization at the time of our summer internship too and dissertation. Placement was offered only in last semester to the students having 6.5 GPA till 3rd semester. Many companies came for placements few were: Hunger box : 18 vaccancy Healthians : 20 vaccancy Healthifyme : 10 vaccancy Welljji : 4 vaccancy Only 20% of students got placed as the offer made was very less and thus students didn't take part and afterward, lockdown happens thus there were less vacancy and students have to look up for jobs on their own. I myself got job offer myself.

Fees and Financial Aid

M.Sc. Food and Nutrition fees were 67000 per semester it was less if compared with different M.Sc. courses at Amity University. But yes it was high but it included many facilities such as Ac classrooms, Digital board, Full access of digital as well offline library for free, computer room, labs with all the machines and chemicals required. Beyond fees, we weren't asked to pay anything more. Amity Scholarship Scheme was mainly for toppers. They have to maintain the highest 5% range in the merit list to maintain the scholarship or avail themselves of it. But scholarships were given to very few people and it was only for bachelor and master students. There was no financial assistance given to any student and there was nobody I know who got a job on campus with a stipend.

Campus Life

3

Amity youth fest was the biggest fest had almost every year in January or February. It was a blast every time as different activities and stars use to come. Books availability of subject biochemistry and diet therapy were very less in the library after too many complaints to they got Only 4-5 which was impossible to get to every student. But yes the library was huge and almost everything also digital excess was included where we can sit in library use a computer and work on our assignment there only. All facilities were available in the classroom from digital board to ac rooms, desk and chairs everything was great. There were many extracurricular activities and sports fest used to happen too. But as attendance was an issue to it was difficult to cope up with extracurricular activities. Different student clubs were there of every department and use to interact with different clubs of each block.

Interview Experience

4

First, the General Test of English and Gk was taken. It was a questionnaire of 100 questions including general knowledge, English, and some competency exam questions. 50 marls were needed to pass it. GD was taken on the topic was " Do you think Extracurricular activities are needed to be mandatory or not" It was 20 minutes long GD with 15 different students of different courses. The interview was taken by 4 different teachers. 3 were from the Foods department only but 1 was from management. Some questions were : 1. Why did you choose Food and Nutrition course. 2. What you think this course will help you in the future. 3. Have you any practical experience in this field. 4. Have you been in any extracurricular activities in your graduation if yes please elaborate. 5. Will you take part in sports or any other extracurricular activities in Amity. 6. Basic questions of Nutrition like what does it mean, tips for Weightloss and thyroid patient. I prepared online and graduation notes for the interview.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course was quite comprehensive and relevant. They covered all the fields of life sciences in depth- molecular biology, recombinant DNA technology (RDT), microbiology, biostatistics, instrumentation, and immunology, among others. The combination of both foundational and applied topics was the whole reason I chose the course at SVSU. In terms of preparationfor the real world applications, the curriculum does a great job in building clarity and founding strong concepts. For students aiming to prepare for GATE, NET, and higher research projects to delve into, the syllabus provides a strong foundation. Regarding improvements, the lab work could be more one-on-one rather than a bulk implementation, and more hands-on experience needs to be added to the course in comparison to the theoretical knowledge. Speaking of the examination pattern, it works in semesters, with the first one occurring in December, then around April, and the last one around June-July. Other than that, there are internal tests held bimonthly and project submissions before the examination session.
