Remarks
I applied for MNNIT Allahabad and MNIT Jaipur. I got Chemical Engineering in MNNIT Allahabad in final round of counseling so I opted for it. I am from a General caste so no quota was applicable. Branches were allotted on the basis of their ranks in JEE Main and the choices filled by students during the counseling. All the academic formalities were smooth and systematic.
Course Curriculum Overview
I had an interest in Mechanical and Chemical Engineering and I got it at MNNIT Allahabad in my counseling so I choose this course. Almost all the faculty members have doctrate degrees and have decent teaching experience in the field of Chemical Engineering. We have two semesters in one year and each semester has one mid-term and end-term examination along with frequent assignments and projects.
Internships Opportunities
Companies come for an internship but not everyone gets an oppurtunity to get an internship as the seats are limited. Most of the students opt for an off-campus internship during their summer break in the third year.
Placement Experience
Placements are pretty good as per the standard of an NIT. Various MNCs and PSUs come for campus placement. Most of the student's sit in campus placements and nearly 85% of them get hired by the companies sooner or later.
Fees and Financial Aid
Normal fees per semester vary between 35k to 90k/semester. The fee structure is divided into three categories based on the family income of the student. Various scholarship and financial assistance are provided by state governments, private and public institutions as well as by Alumni of MNNIT (based on academic performance of the student) I got a scholarship of 50k from the UP government.
Campus Life
There are various clubs in MNNIT. One can join one or more clubs based on his/her interest. Technical fest "Aavishkar" is usually conducted in August-September and Cultural fest "Culrav" is organized in Jan-Feb. The institute has a central library that has thousands of books on different topics and trades. All the classrooms and lecture halls are fully air-conditioned.
Hostel Facilities
Each year has separate blocks. Each room has a separate wardrobe, study table, and basic amenities for student. New hostels are under construction and will be ready soon. The registration process of the hostel is simple and it was done on the same day itself.
