Remarks
The admission was merit-based. I filled the form with all the necessary details of my 12th boards and I was selected because of merit. I think it's a good way to select students on their merit. There were many quotes to give reservations to OBC, SC, ST sports quota, etc. Hence it was good to give reservations to the downtrodden society in order to educate them.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I was very much interested in the finance field and always want to learn about accounts and taxation. Thus I went for commerce and I think that the faculty of the college was very experienced and educated. Their way of teaching was unique and I liked that and the exams were of good level. In order to pass the examinations, one had to study the concepts well as the paper was conceptually based.
Internships Opportunities
Most internships come from the CA article firms and they used to give us overall knowledge and make our studies more practical, the stipend was kinda okay but the experience was good. Everything that we studied we used to apply it our internship.
Placement Experience
Reputed companies like IBM, TCS, KPMG, ITC, etc used to come to our college from campus placement. They mostly used to come in our third year and the package was quite good about 4-5 lakhs p.a. and it could also go up to 7 lakhs P.A. I'm planning to continue my education further and do a master's.
Fees and Financial Aid
I think the fees were okay not too costly not too cheap. I got a scholarship because of my merit in my first year and the scholarship was kinda high. I only paid 7000 a year and got 20000 as a refund because of my merit. Thus in terms of fees, the college was okay. The college provided campus placement and companies like ITC, WIPRO, TCS, KPMG, etc come to our campus. Thus all over the campus placement provided a package of 4-5 lakhs P.A which is quite good.
Campus Life
The college held an annual fest named UMANG and it was quite popular in whole Kolkata celebs like Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, etc used to come in our college fests and thus make the fest more enjoyable. The college had a good and big library. Besides providing a good study environment it also provided a platform for extracurricular activities. The college had organized many clubs like the literature club, ACCA, etc. Thus the college provided an overall personality enhancement that helped me in my future.
