Anshul Choudhary's Review On Vellore Institute Of Technology - [VIT University], Vellore

IIT JEE-108, BITSAT-241, VIT was an obvious choice after I went out of choice and still wanted to study in a reputed college.

The course of VIT university is pretty good and it has got everything that an international university requires. With Abet accreditation its value is immense outside. Also, once you survive through 4 years there is the cherry on top with an assured placement by PAT.

Not to Btech graduates but to Masters students. Although, they do the referral if required for any student who didn't find an internship.

Too good, every year record placements and packages are also pretty nice. Becoming tier-1 university which is like companies visit every day within a span of 3-4 months with like nonstop speed. Year-round companies come and package range from 3.5-25 generally.

There is a hell of lots of events but Gravitas and Riviera are the charms of the college. Summits, MUNs, other Management Fests also happen throughout the year. Tech fest Gravitas is a nonstop 72 hours baffling experience I had when I organized it in 2014. Riviera is most breathtaking where famous personalities come.

At my time which was 2011 it fairly cheap I would say given the status of the college and facilities. Now, there have been changes and fees are quite more and not feasible for a medium family guy until he takes a loan. Also, the hostel fee keeps on increasing every year.

There is a scholarship program for top student achievers and also for underprivileged people. I don't have further knowledge of this aspect.

Campus life is one of the best in the country. People from Africa to China come here to study, also within India people from every state come so diversity is one of the best here, I challenge. The gender ratio is fairly descent rather on the mid-low side to be precise. Debate clubs like toastmasters and volunteering clubs like MAD are a few of the 100s.

Hostels at VIT are top-notch compared to the few colleges I have been to. Properly managed, tidy and everyday attendance. Just that now, one strict rule has been applied in the timings which can be troublesome for some guys. Mess food is a bit challenging but again fairly decent.

The Alumni network is not so strong on papers but VIT is everywhere be it Masters or Entrepreneur or business. It can be made more helpful in the near future if management pays a little more attention to that aspect.

The exam could be made more challenging but this problem is everywhere in India can't blame it. Though the level of exam is pretty good and some of the papers are breathtaking especially for ECE I can vouch all 4 years without arrears is quite a good accomplishment.

Faculties are pretty decent though not good as in IIT OR some NITs but again depends on courses. There are some brilliant faculties too and VIT is improving day by day. Also, the exchange program brings the best out of students. The aim is to make all faculties have a Ph.D. degree by 2020.
