Remarks

Question 1 - Colleges I applied for - 1. Banasthali Vidyapeeth, Jaipur - I was selected for the course Btech under computer science (CS). I have to leave it because the commencement of session and admission started in June when all other exams like upsee, jee advance result was also not declared. Taking admission in Banasthali was to leave all the options as the session starts earlier there as compared to other colleges. 2. Gla, Mathura-I don't like the admission procedure of the college because everyone was given the desired branch irrespective of their marks. Taking admission in Gla and I would suggest going there only if it is the last option. Question 2- I belong to the general category. So, no quota availed. Question 3 - Admission criteria was that the general category should score at least 45% marks in aggregate of 3 subjects i.e., physics, chemistry, maths or biology. No information of age was given. Question 4 - Counselling was done on upsee platform in 4 rounds.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Question 1 - I chose Btech because I wanted to learn in this field and I wanted to be an engineer from my childhood days. I thought it to be a good career option which opens many other doors like research, IT consultant, software engineer etc. Question 2 - 1 faculty is for 60-70 students in theory classes and 30 - 35 students on 1 faculty for lab classes. Question 3 - Qualification of faculty is mostly Mtech with few experienced and senior teacher with the degree of PhD. The teaching method is presenting a ppt on the smart board mostly. Question 4 - Exams are very very frequently. In a semester there are two term exams and one final university exam at the end of the semester with an internal and an external viva. The class test can also be held in a month depending on the teacher's mood. A pre-university exam is also held just before the university exam. It is not much difficult to pass as faculty concerns are to maximize their result. So, if the student attends most of the lecture then he/she can easily qualify.

Placement Experience

3

Question 1 - After the 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Question 2 - As the college is situated in the NCR region companies come to college. Companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro visit the college and no of the offers made are around 11-12 students. Many starts up companies also visit college. Question 3 - I don't know much about that but the highest package ever offered is 23 lakhs approx. Question 4 - HoD of the IT department says that 90% of the students are placed but I have not seen it applied. Maybe it's not in my knowledge. Question 5 - In our college, many students got good marks but accordingly placement is not so good. So, students go for GATE preparation. My plan after getting the degree is not yet decided because I wanted to have my hands in various sectors like a startup, research or a job. Recently, I am learning and improving my skills so that I can better use them in whatever option I will have at that time.

Fees and Financial Aid

Question 1 - College can not directly increase the fees on their own. All uptu colleges come under AKTU university. The university can interfere in the matter of fees hike if it is not justified and the university can also impose an order stating no fee hike under various circumstances like prevailing right now i.e COVID-19. Cost to study is more than uptu government colleges but yeah less than IITs or NITs which is 4.5 lakhs for 4 years in total and 1.1 lakh in hostel per year approx. You can also visit akgec.ac.in for accurate fees structure which slightly varies on branches even. Questin 2 - AKTU announces scholarship every year which can be filled if annual income is less than 2 lakhs under which 50,000 or 60,000 depending on the category of caste is provided every year which have to be renewed every year. No, job is provided on the campus.

Campus Life

4

Question 1 - As compared to other colleges very few fests are conducted in college. For the first year, Freshers is conducted in September or October. A Farewell for the third year and sports event is conducted in February or March. Tech fest is conducted by different societies of the college depending on the availability of holidays on a small scale. Question 2 - Subject books are issued once the semester starts and have to be returned after the exams end in the period of 3-4 days. The books provided are mostly very old which are not matching the syllabus. Only a few books are helpful. We can issue a book depending on the need. Question 3 - Classrooms are ventilated with a smartboard, a blackboard, a projector and a mic for teacher with proper spacing and enough seats provided. Labs are air conditioned with all computers in a working state and all the useful software downloaded with a proper internet speed. Question 4- Sports event is conducted every year.

I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty are very kind and helpful. Almost every faculty member has completed there post-graduation from various established colleges. The examination scheme is a little bit slow here. Students can pass their semester exams if they are paying at least 45 per cent of their concentration.
