Remarks
For admission, one has to qualify for JEE Main. And after that, they have to register themselves on Josaa/CSAB counselling. In counselling, they have to select the National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology as their college. Then they have to wait for the counselling result. If they have allocated a seat in the college then you have to complete all the counselling steps. And have to physically report to the Campus. Provide the required documents and here you go. Your life at NIFFT starts.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum consists of two courses, one is Metallurgy and Materials Engineering and the other is Mechanical engineering. The college comes under JUT Board (But things are going on to make it autonomous). There is decent faculty to students ratio of 50:1. Our college also has one of the best workshops in the country, having ASIA's biggest college foundry. Most of the faculty are IITIANS. We have 2 mid-sem and an End-sem for every semester. But few of the faculty just enjoy their government Job by not doing anything.
Internships Opportunities
I am a student of covid crisis, and I am not getting much support from college for internship. But our seniors have got interns in HEC, SAIL etc. Also for the stipend, there is not much support either. For internships, students have to work on their own and it's also recommended that a student has to undergo up to 4 internships in their 4 years of the college course period.
Placement Experience
The placement here in College is good considering the core branch having almost 90% placement and the rest of the students opt for higher studies. But in recent times the placement quality has deteriorated.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees a place where NIFFT is good. It has 51,200 as its yearly fees (which include hostel too), for the mess you have to pay around 3,000. For scholarship, there is internal and external scholarship. For SC and ST there is a lot and for OBC and GEN their families annual income should be less than 1,20,000.
Campus Life
Campus life is decent here. We have an annual fest named JINKS-PRANAV. It also includes tech competition in it. Here we have a central library for all students. For the classroom, there is a brand new building so you will enjoy the good infrastructure and also have WiFi. The hostel is way too good. But the mess is not. For clubs, since we are not big in number so you will get most of the opportunity, One can even start a club if they want.
Hostel Facilities
As I mentioned earlier, Hostel is too good. You can enjoy 30MBPS of WiFi (but only for the laptop). For each year student, there is a separate hostel meaning you will be at a good distance from senior so there is not much ragging. Also, there is the anti-ragging team. For mess, there is a compromise as you can't change your mess you will be allocated as per your hostel.
