IIT Kanpur- Where dreams come true.

I have applied to colleges including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Kanpur. But I could get only in IIT Kanpur because of my performance JEE Advanced. I availed General EWS quota for admission, which includes the parental income being less than eight lacs. The admission criteria include JEE advanced rank who's cutoff varies from branch to branch and year to year. There is no age limit for admission. The admission process included filling in the choices of the college according to JEE rank and then the college allotted according to the cut-offs. Then I was asked to fill in my details and pay the fees for admission to the college.

I chose this course because of the high demand for computer science in the current situation and its future prospects. Have the college has a great faculty-to-student ratio. The professors and the faculties are highly qualified and have an excellent teaching method with a great experience. Despite the two major exams, which are the midsems exams and the end sem exams, the college promotes continuous evaluations through quizzes and assignments. the exams are moderately difficult and are great to evaluate the understanding of the students in the subject.

The college provides a lot of internship opportunities from the first year itself. Hundreds of companies enrol in the internship program. The stipend varies from job to job depending upon the job profile.

The students who have secured the minimum credits required for graduation can apply for campus placements. Many companies, including the big ones like Google, Microsoft, GS, etc. make offers in the college. The highest international package goes around 1.5 crores, whereas the average package is around 12 lacs. The percentage of students getting placement is over 99. My plan after getting the degree is to secure a good job through campus placement.

The students must pay the semester fees, which are around 1.3 Lacs, including one lakh tuition fees and other charges for facilities like hostel, mess, etc. The tuition fee for the SE&EST category is completely waived off, whereas, for the EWS category, it is 33,000. The other charges remain the same. There are various opportunities provided for scholarships by the college and organizations, including both private and governmental. The college also provides opportunities through internships and jobs which pay a stipend.

The experience on the college campus is great and life-changing. The annual cultural fest held in IIT Kanpur is Antaragini, and the tech fest is TechKriti. The library named PK Kelkar library has a huge number of books for every field. The classes have air conditioners and projectors for better teaching. the college provides opportunities to learn different sports and extracurricular activities and showcase your talents to different competitions. There are many clubs and societies for different fields like science club, art club entrepreneurship cell, etc.
