BITS: Not just marks but it develops your overall skills

I have got IIT, Patna in JOSAA counselling, and I have chance to get Electrical in BITS because I did well in BITS test, but as mechanical engineering is my interest, I opted for it, and as BITS, Pilani campus is equivalent to top 5 IITs, and more ever it is unique in its industrial culture of practice school, and BITS also provides good opportunities in research so, I opted BITS over IITs.

Mechanical (Hons.) is a great subject to explore more in mechanics and Thermal areas, which further supports enhancing skills in robotics. As in BITS, admission is only based on merit, and no reservation is given based on caste so, talent survives, and the student-faculty ratio is also good enough so faculty can handle students and support and teach them. Exams papers would be made tough by the professor, which tests our conceptual and application knowledge. Moreover, it also tests our innovative abilities. If one puts a good effort into learning skills, it will be easy to pass, and more ever it supports the career.

There two practice schools and one in the second year and the other in the 4th year, and which we work with industries on various projects and BITS bring this for their students, and even in the 3rd year, we will have internships from companies outside BITS.

BITS is known for its opportunities in placements, and most of the students will be get placed. There are other opportunities from industries from practice schools that BITS offer as a compulsory project, which involves working on industrial projects. The highest package would be for CS students, but BITS' core group opportunities are also quite good. However, the initial package for the core group is more petite. Upon an increase in experience, it will increase.

The top 1 percentile in the department will get a free scholarship. The rest of the scholarship is based on merit cum need a scholarship, which is based on the financial background of student's parents and if a parent earns less than 10 lakhs per annum the scholarship for their children starts from crossing 6 points CGPA overall as papers would be challenging in BITS.

OASIS, APOGEE, BOSM are cultural, technical, and sports fests held in BITS. Adding this, excellent clubs and societies provide opportunities to work on various innovative projects and support our classroom learning. BITS is known for its collection of journals and books on international aspects, and also BITS as a good amount of its publications and few technical clubs like Operation and strategic management are lead by students and BITS focus on the overall development of student career, and it develops an individual as a leader by cultivating leadership qualities.

Hostel facilities are good. The students get proper food in the hostel canteen at a meagre cost (per meal Rs 50/-), but the plate serves all essential items for a balanced diet with many varieties. Hostel fee is comparatively less in BITS to its overall price. The hostel fee is Rs.50,000, which includes all facilities, and registration of the hostel would also be the same, and it will be along with academic registration.
