Good Experience, Freshers find it difficult sometimes to get the intership

I had applied for PGDM for Welingkar on their website based on my MBA - CET score of 98.6 percentile. There is no reservation quota for PGDM. There were no minimum marks required as such Was shortlisted for 1st round of GDPI, GD had around 10 ppl, topics were generic.

I chose PGDM-Marketing as I liked the subjects and had an open-ended personality, so wanted to work in something involving practical experience. 6 semesters in 2 years. PGDM has 3 classes, Each Class has a strength of 60 ppl and subject wise qualified faculties with descent industry experience are there to teach the students. Teaching done with PPT's mostly. Regular Assignments and group works are given. Need to be very active with the college work. Mid-term tests also take place, presentations and assignments are Group and individual as well in some cases. One has to study and understand the part to pass the exam with good numbers, exams are easily provided concepts are understood in class and one goes through the syllabus covered.

All students get internships, if not from college then from outside. LOT if companies come regularly, mostly small scale. Companies like GEP, Reliance and other IT companies do come. Few of them offer PPO as well. Sales and marketing opportunities are more. Projects differ as per profile and company's need. Students can join another internship as well from outside (some of them did) if the workload is not much.

Final placements starts after summer internship ends and second year begins. sem 4,5,6 eligible for final placements. Wide range of companies recruit, most are from IT and Banking sector. Good placements for Rural, RBA and Healthcare batch as well. The highest package is around 18lakh (1 person), after that around 13. 5, 12, 11 lakh. The average is around 8-9lakh. Most serious students get placed, so there is plenty of placement opportunity, placements are on even after the final semester is ended. it's just that the student need to be serious and it should reflect in the CV with things done so far be it academics or extracurriculars. My plans is to give my best and be patient and humble and see wherever my hardwork and determination takes me ahead in my life as far as career is concerned.

Fees are 11 lakh for PGDM for 2 years in 4 installation of 2.75lakh each. No scholarship as per my knowledge. Placements are good. Summer internship - didn't get any stipend (students shouldn't really bother about any stipend for internships) Everyone gets summer internships, free or 5k or 10k or 20k. Max was GEP gave 75k per month. My Final placement - Infosys, 8.5 LPA.

The library is good. Classrooms are good with central A.C., TV for PPT, and whiteboards. The overall infrastructure is good. No annual fest, but Tech fest, Hackathons, seminars keep on happening. Plenty of knowledge sources. The leather Cricket Intercollege tournament was known as IMPACT in March. Intra college sports festival known as Runbhoomi, open for all students both indoor and outdoor games.

Topics of GD were generic like Bitcoins, Technology, etc. Just being confident is important, placing points clearly, respecting other speakers In GD, and being positive. Interview, speak clearly about the journey to date, achievements if any to be explained. Questions were based on filled details, so just need to be thorough with our profile and be confident and humble.
