Remarks
I got an average rank in the APEAMCET examination. So choosing a good college was a challenge. I enquired about a lot of colleges in which I can easily get a seat through my APEAMCET counselling. Aditya seemed to be the best college in terms of infrastructure, placements etc. Once you qualify for APEAMCET and your certificate verification is done, you need to submit a priority list of colleges in which you want to seek admission. This process is called web counselling. Then the government will allot a college based on your rank and the priority list submitted by you. I kept this college at the top in the priority so that I get a seat according to my preference.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course out of passion. In Aditya the faculty: student ratio is approximately 1:20 (excluding lab professionals, project associates, and technical trainers). The faculty is highly qualified but the only problem is that most of them don't enjoy their job. So you will find average lectures for namesake but if you are proactive you will get a lot of opportunities to explore yourself. The college will even fund you if you work on competitive projects. Technical trainers have a lot of expertise in core technologies. Project associates will guide you and always motivate you to work on more projects. A year is divided into 2 semesters. Two mid exams are conducted in between the semester. Apart from that, you need to submit assignments from time to time. We have an incubation centre and an R&D cell which encourages new startups.
Internships Opportunities
To be frank you need to find an internship on your own. It might be a paid or unpaid internship. The college will allow you a letterhead requesting the company to provide you with an opportunity. Projects that you work on depends on the company with which you are doing your internship.
Placement Experience
According to me, Aditya is the best among the local engineering colleges in terms of placements. They train you from the first year itself. Most of the companies are software companies. Recently four to five students got placed in AWS with the package of 19 lakhs per annum. Capgemini takes many students and offers 4 lakh per annum. You should not expect core companies in Aditya. Final year students are eligible for placements. Aditya group gets campus placements for its degree colleges also. So if you want to study only for placements Aditya should not be your priority for doing core courses like electrical, mechanical etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
On-campus jobs are not available but if you are from Andhra Pradesh and your family is a BPL card holder, the state government will pay your entire college fee. It will also give financial assistance of 20000 rupees towards hostel expenses. The college also has a trust which gives free education to the verified students who are unable to pay their college fee but they need to pay it in instalments after they get a job. This trust was established two years back. Apart from that if you participate in national level tech competition like SAE BAJA, go-karting etc the college will fund you.
Campus Life
Generally, an annual fest named 'COLORS' is conducted in the month of January. Unfortunately due to some issues, it was not conducted after my first year due to some issues. It was planned again but the covid pandemic doesn't allow huge gatherings. A technical fest called ' VEDA ' is conducted every year in the month of September. A lot of events are conducted by various departments of the college. Technical Competitions are conducted in order to boost the self-confidence of students. Events like project expo, paper presentations etc attracts a lot of students. There are a lot of social groups and clubs. Leo is one of the most active groups which works under our NSS wing and organises blood donation camps, help people in nearby villages, go green campaigns etc.
Hostel Facilities
Aditya is known for its hostel facility. They take approximately 80000 rupees per year. There is a North and a South canteen named after the style of food prepared in the mess. As there are a lot of students from all over India and 9 different countries, the hostel facilities are luxurious. Students can also opt for air-conditioned rooms for which an extra amount is charged. A gym, TV room and a huge green campus make your hostel life peaceful. A table and chair are provided for studying. Students who cannot afford a college hostel can opt for a nearby rented PG. They charge nearly 4000 per month. Food is of average standards in college hostel but it is hygenic.
