I was into Integrated BEd department a 4 year integrated course with my core subject as English so for that course Additional 10seats are being added along with the 100 existing seats.
Course Curriculum Overview
Because I was interested in the course. English is a good subject to take in graduation it is multidimensional, you can opt for any further degrees after completion of this particular course. There are varied opportunities. Editor, Profiler, Lectureship, UPSC, Bank exams. This remains a big problem as the classrooms were overcrowded. But 60% of students hardly attend the class so it's quite okay. The teachers are well qualified and experienced. The teachers are very kind and helpful and they take optimum care of student's interests and take everything into consideration. Though some irregularities in classes but quite manageable because you can study most of the syllabus yourself. The lectures are quite interesting if you really enjoy classes though. Exams were scheduled on time. Midterm along with Endterm. It's difficult to score more than 60% most of the time because English is not a scoring subject. If you really want to pursue literature then only get into it.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are quite manageable 600 per year is a good fee for an undergraduate course. However No extra internships or joboffers is provided. Scholarships under Government of Odisha is provided from the University but not from the department
Campus Life
There are debate competitions and essay competitions from the university itself. There is a huge library to dig into that is open for college hours. The classrooms are quite old-fashioned and traditional method is prominent. The department needs to work on it. Annual sports are held on yearly basis. Foodfests. Collegefests are not a thing but. The collegelife is not that happening. There are varied clubs you can join internal clubs though.
Hostel Facilities
Students will be provided separate beds cupboards of their own on basis of room availablity. Students may have to adjust in dormitories as well if there is a shortage of rooms. Food quality according to the money is manageable but sometimes there is really bad meals provided. At the time of admission, you are being given the option. yes there are private hostels near to the college
