My experience with BIST Bhopal

The admission process in my college was very smooth. I have applied online and I just need to visit once to complete my registration process. I have not applied to any other college rather than this because in this college many of my relatives have graduated so my first preference was this only. I have not any special quota during admission. The minimum criteria were 50% in 12th and the age limit was 23. The admission process was divided into 3 parts:- First, I contacted the college and I received one online form to register myself with all the relevant details. Then I got one scheduled to visit the college, college transport has received me from my preferred location. After that, we visited the university for the final registration and counselling.

I choose this course because of my interest in the IT field and also the fee was very low compared to the facilities they provide. The faculty-student ratio was 1:45. The faculties were well qualified in their respective domain with knowing practical implementation. The teaching method was comprehensive, we were getting enough practical classes for each subject. The term exam was very timely, we have an odd semester exam during December and even a semester during may-June. The difficulty level was high as I having 2 backlogs during my first semester.

I have done internship outside of the college. Our college does not provide any such internship program. So the internship experience related to the college is not applicable. In my internship from outside, I have done on the internet of things and the project was to automate home appliances.

As I am in my final year and about to leave college so I have personal experience with campus placements. To date within 1 year more than 250+ companies have visited our college. I got placement from the college campus itself. The overall campus selection is 90 to 95%. The Big companies that have visited are AMDOCS, COFORGE, MPHASIS, TCS, INFOSYS, ACCENTURE, WIPRO, EPAM, TECH MAHINDRA, GAMMASTACK, YASH TECHNOLOGY, BYJUS, SCALLER, ZARO etc. The highest package was offered by TCS @ 8 LPA profile was a digital software engineer. The average package is 3.50 LPA.

The fee structure is the biggest factor in this college. My fee for IT is 35,000 per year. And there was half the student in my class from the backward community who had availed 90 to 100% scholarship. In my 4 year span, there was no fees hike, because the policy of the college is that whatever fees are told at the time of admission the same will continue for the rest of the years. The scholarships are mainly provided by the state government to the students.

The campus is very beautiful with huge buildings. The name of the annual fest is BANSALOTSAV and it is celebrated in March. We have ample co-curricular activities. My college is part of the NCC cadet group. There different student clubs for the person with different interests. Talking about the sports our college has many inter-college cricket tournaments and football tournaments. Our college has a basketball court, cricket ground, football ground, table tennis, Volleyball court, etc.

I have not faced any of these things during my admission. The process for admission was counselling only and there was no such thing as an Interview or written test. But I have prepared for it.
