Remarks
I applied in Chetna's Mumbai, MET Bandra and Xaviers while simultaneously applying for Welingkars. I got admission in Welingkars (Mumbai) through Institute Level seats. There are some seats 20% which are reserved apart from the normal seats available. The admission process was very smooth and the GD/PI was very intriguing. There was an orientation day on the first day of college where they provided us with all the details about the business design course. The admission criteria include 50% in graduation by June 2021. The entrance tests valid are CMAT, CAT, GMAT, ATMA and XAT. Apart from academic and entrance tests, the selection criteria also depend on Interview and Extracurricular activities.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because it merges business design and management together and makes it creative for students to understand. It covers all the dimensions like Marketing, Finance, HR and Operations. 20:60 is the student ratio per semester. The faculty is highly recommended experienced. They cater to every student's needs individually. The teaching method is extremely practical even though it was in virtual mode this year. The exams are easy if the student pays attention to the grooming sessions and lectures. The exams happen thrice in one year.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of live projects and internships offered. Companies like Jio, Tommy Hilfiger, Outlook Magazine, IOC came for summer internships. There were projects related to marketing research, sales, operations and finance domain.
Placement Experience
Summer internships placements start from Semester One while executive placements start from Semester Fourth. There were more than 100 companies that came for placements and I got 4 offers out of which I chose Outlook for my summer internship. The average salary was 8.47 lakhs p.a and Highest Salary was 15.45 lakhs PA. Around 90% of the students were placed for the Summer internship. My executive placements will start this year and I will decide my future plans accordingly.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fees include 5,50,00/-p.a + Library deposit of 4000 (refundable) and hostel fees include 90,000 /-p.a go 1,50,000/-p.a + a deposit of 5000 (refundable). I didn't apply for a scholarship or financial assistance but students can avail of student loans from ICICI and Bank of Baroda bank. Internship placement- Outlook Magazine (7000-10000).
Campus Life
Due to college being virtual everything was online. But the college made sure that students get to participate. There were elections for the college magazine Samwad and for the GSECS & PSECS. The college didn't leave a chance to celebrate small events like Independence Day and Yoga day. There is a website called e-library where loads of data is saved regarding various topics. We also have access to Bloomberg courses and the entire Microsoft 365 application.
Interview Experience
The group discussion included general knowledge questions and current affairs. Personal interview was more of individual scrutiny in relation to academics, experience and communication skills. The GD/PI happened in slots and everything was communicated through emails and WhatsApp groups. I prepared for these rounds by researching general affairs, the chosen course and by thoroughly reviewing my CV.
