Remarks
There were very few colleges that I applied for. I always wanted to be a part of WeSchool. I gave only 2 3 interviews. All went well, but I was waiting for WeSchool's result to come. It was due to the pandemic that it took so long for WeSchool to declare the results. But the wait was worth the while. I got what I aspired for. WeSchool was accepting results of various competitive exams such as CAT, CMAT, CET, etc. A student with a graduation degree and a minimum of 60% marks was the criteria. There was no age limit. The admission process was very smooth and well organized. We had a session wherein we were given a few details about the college. The GD and PI processes took place on the same day. Snacks were also provided to all the students. Both the process contained marks and the aggregate of competitive exam marks, GD and PI were calculated and based on that the results were declared.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the business design because it was a very unique and modern course. It was a general management course that gave a holistic view. There was 1 teacher for 60 students. All the faculty members are highly qualified from reputed institutes and a lot of industry experience. The teaching method is as unique as the course and was very easy to grasp all the knowledge. The exams were taken timely and were not very difficult. The focus is more on assignments rather than exams.
Internships Opportunities
Great companies came for the internship program as well. There was all kind of roles for the interns such as HR, Marketing, Finance, operations, consulting, design, etc. The stipend was as high as 75k per month and there were non-paid internships as well. Companies such as GEP, Colgate, HDFC Bank, Nestle, Anarock, etc came. Projects were very different for different sectors. Such as sales, logistics, ORM, software development, etc.
Placement Experience
From trim 4 the students are eligible for executive placements. Companies such as GEP, Colgate, Nestle, Teleradiology solutions, Anarock group, Mahindra, Ultratech Cement, etc come for placements. The highest package this year was 19.5L and the average is 9.5L. 95% of the students get placed from college and others usually opt-out. My plans after getting the degree will be to get into a good company.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since WeSchool comes in the well-reputed B-schools the fees are a little high as compared to other B-Schools. There was no reduction in the fees during the pandemic. Though the college gave a chance to those people to apply for compensation in the fees, who lost their parents due to covid-19. The cost to study is very high. Other student loan schemes help people with weak financial conditions. The job opportunities provided by the college are good. This year the highest package was 19.5L. Also, the internship opportunities are great.
Campus Life
Due to the pandemic, we did not get a chance to visit the campus. But we do have a lot of facilities online such as E-library, Access to Databases, Office 365 email ids, Placement committees, Guest sessions, Management committees. We have 24/7 access to the library. It has a lot of books and journals. There is an e-magazine which is run by the students.
Interview Experience
Yes, there was GD and PI process. The topics for GD were mostly abstract and related to the pandemic. For example- Brands and lives, How to control Air pollution in Mumbai, Every cloud has a silver lining, etc. There was a group of 10 people for the GD round. It was well organized and timed. There were 2 jury members and a time-keeper. The overall process is very smooth and easy. To prepare well for the GD one can read a lot of books and articles over the net. Even newspaper helps us to get knowledge about what is going on currently. The PI was very simple. Just the basic questions were asked such as Tell me about yourself, Family background, Previous experience, Discussion on any current issues.
Other Applied Colleges
Dalmia College, Mumbai | PGDM
It is because Welingkar had better opportunities in terms of infrastructure, placements etc.
