SASTRA University- review

I got 3741 ranking in TS EAMCET. In Eamcet Counselling I got CBIT college I didn't choose this because I wanted the CSE branch and I wanted to go to another state. I felt Sastra University is perfect To apply for this college you have to fill the application form from the website. One Application costs RS 600/-.University will ask for jee main marks and 12th class marks. There will be 2 streams. Stream 1 is based on JEE marks and 12th marks. Stream 2 is based on 12th marks. I got 96percentile in mains and 978marks in 12th. My rank in the stream was 80. I have chosen the CSE branch. To get the CSE branch your stream 1 rank should be below 300.

I am interested in computer programming and I hate physics so I have chosen the CSE course. 1st year will be the same for every branch. From 2nd year you will be having subjects only related to computer programming. CSE course is easy compared to other courses. There will be 1 lecturer per 60 students. Shankar Sriram is one of the faculty members from CSE. His qualification is M.C.A. (Madurai Kamaraj University) M.E. (Thapar University) Ph.D. (Birla Institute of Technology). Manikandan G is another faculty member with qualification MCA, M.PHIL, M.TECH, Ph.D. My other faculty member for the DAA subject is Kartikeyan with qualification M.Sc., M.Tech., Ph.D.There will be 3 CIA exams to give internal marks and 1semester exam for external marks. Exams will be difficult. Maintaining a 7.5 CGPA and above will be great and can get you a good placement.

Students are eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. A maximum of students can get a Campus placement. The average salary will be 3.5 lakhs per anum. TCS, COGNIZANT companies are going to hire maximum students who are interested to get placed in IT department. The highest package is 28.5 lakh per anum by pay pal company. The placement percentage is 70%. TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, Oracle, Idea are some of the companies that are going to visit in campus placements. I want to get into some product-based company in campus placement with a good package above 9 lakhs per anum.

The semester fee is 65000 per 6 months. Hostel fees are 12000 per year. Mess fee ranges from 2500-3000 per month. An average of 7-8lacs per 4 years. The semester fee will increase by 1000 for every year. The exam fee will be 500 per course. Re-correction costs rs 1000/-.There are two scholarships based on merit. One is the dean's list. You'll get a scholarship of rs.6000/-. You'll get another scholarship of RS 14000/-if you are in the top 2%. There is one non-merit Scholarship for the attendance and behavior of the person in the hostel.

There are 3 main fests. COLOSSEUM, DAKSH, KURUKSASTRA. COLOSSEUM is a sports fest, DAKSH is a technical fest, KURUKSASTRA is a cultural fest. The library consists of textbooks of all courses. Sastra has very good Library maintenance. Sastra also has a gym, football ground, cricket ground is still not ready, and a stadium for indoor games. There will be sports competitions with other colleges also. There are many social clubs for entrepreneurship, robotics, PR clubs for fests, respective branch clubs, gaming clubs, developers clubs, photography clubs, and many more.

Hostel fee is very low so you can't expect good rooms. You have to adjust or You can take a rented accommodation in Thanjavur if you choose comfort over money. The hostel will have canteens. Free wifi will be provided only for laptops for academic works. You cannot use social media from campus wifi. Girls must return to the hostel by 6 pm and boys must return to campus by 8 pm. Food is not so tasty and afternoon meals will be always the same and non-vegetarian food is not permitted inside the campus. Food must not be ordered to campus. You cannot bring non-vegetarian foods inside the campus. If you are in the range of 25km from campus hostel is not provided. You can register for a hostel during counseling time.
