Remarks
My KCET rank actually turned out pretty okay but not so much in JEE mains. As BMSCE is ranked 6th by India Today and 6th by the Week Best Engineering College Survey I chose BMSCE after I made it through the KCET cutoff, I think I did not go to the university physically, I just paid the admission fee through the admission portal. It was almost two years ago s I cannot remember how much the fee was though, probably a thousand bucks. Might have gone up a bit too.
Course Curriculum Overview
I think it is good. My department's course curriculum is relevant, and up to date. The quality of teaching is not bad either. We have good and reliable professors and staff. But we are encouraged to mostly self-study. There is this creative environment here. We also get a lot of support from our instructors.
Placement Experience
I think the placements are pretty decent, despite what some people might think. About 30% of our seniors this term were placed in top-notch companies such as Samsung and AmazonBosch, and other top software companies. I think other top companies like TCS, Goldman Sachs Nutanix and Oracle that came too. More than 80% of our department people get placed on an average. The highest salary package offered was about 35 LPA, and the average salary package offered is on par with NITs, about 7 LPA.
Fee Structure And Facilities
My fees for my course is about 1 lakh, a little more than 1 lakh perhaps. I find it pretty cool, other private universities charge several folds more than this. What I like more is despite this, there are also government scholarship opportunities like the CAT freeship, DBCM scholarship DSW SC/ST scholarship, LIG freeship and so on which allows students from all communities to come together and creates a wholesome environment.
Campus Life
From the infrastructure point of view, I would say it is pretty okay considering the fees, especially the platinum building. It is as the name suggests, the premium. The playground is kind of small though, not that I am complaining. I am not much for staying under the sun and would rather spend my time in the laboratories and libraries. We also have AC classrooms, thank heavens. There are different clubs and societies we are a part of too.
