Entrance Preview

I got admission in 2nd Year(Lateral Entry Scheme for Diploma Students). I got 582 general rank in CET and got MSIT CSE-M in the 3rd round of counselling. It was my 3rd or 4th priority and it was also closer to my home.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum of the whole GGSIPU is same for all the colleges. It's bit outdated and subjects of other departments are usually given you to study. The whole time of the semester is spent on studying all the subjects in the curriculum and hence no time is left for the research. Moreover, lectures used to give you a load of assignments which occupies you completely.

Internships Opportunities

Microsoft used to visit our college for their summer internship program around August. I don't know whether they pay for it or not. They take a very few 3-4 students every year from CS branch. Apart from that, I have never heard of any internship provided by our college, neither by seniors, neither by college staff itself.

College Events

2.5

This is the point at which I hate my college most annual College Tech fest Avensis is almost a joke they don't provide enough budget to at least make it like a college fest students sometimes themselves to keep things going and after fest is over they have to repeatedly visit management to reimburse the amount, sometimes literally beg.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees for 1st year is Rs. 97,062 which includes: Tuition fees- 79,062, University fees- 10,000, Extra-curricular activity fees- 1000, One-time security fees(refundable)- 5000 after 1st year Rs. 92,062 is payable by bank draft it's comparatively expensive than the Government colleges of the university but it's much much lower than the other private universities like Galgotia's, Amity etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed any scholarship from my college but there's a scholarship scheme for Economically Weak students i.e students having less than 1 LPA family income from all sources. The amount of scholarship may vary student to student. Students have to apply for it and college forwards the name to university. University calls students for interview and if they find candidate deserving, the amount is transferred to their bank accounts. Scholarship amount may vary from Rs 15k-50k.

Campus Life

3

Again a let down to newcomers. The campus is not very big as it seems from the outside. There are few societies for music, drama, quiz, debate, entrepreneurship etc. The gender ratio is quite good here. Sports facilities are very poor. At the entrance, you can see a board showing the direction towards the various sports facilities such as table tennis room, badminton court etc. But sadly basketball court is converted into faculty parking.

Hostel Facilities

3

I don't know very much about hostel facility but as much as I have heard from my friends that hostel facility also needs much much improvement. Food served in hostel is not so good. Personally, I have never tasted hostel's food so I cannot say whether it is really bad enough. Timings of hostel are flexible for boys and very strict for girls. Girls are not allowed to go outside hostel after 7 P.M. Even if they need stationary item they have to ask their male friend to go out and buy stationary for her. Boys are allowed to go out around 10 P.M. They can check in any time they like. I have confirmed this biased timing system by many of my hosteler friends.

Alumni/Alumna

College seniors are very helpful and friendly they don't consider themselves are superior to you and always greet you like as a friend if you only have met once.

Exam Structure

You will blink an eye and you'll realise that 1st sessionals are scheduled on next week. Again you'll blink an eye and you'll realise that 2nd sessionals are scheduled on next week. However, the sessional exams are kind of easy. You can even pass sessional exams if you study on the day of the exam itself. On the other hand external(finals) exams are quite unexpected and unpredictable. Sometimes they ask a question in extreme details and sometimes they make you write the theory on Engineering Mathematics exam yeah, that's true happened to us. The key is to get most out of internal marks so you can score well overall.

Admission

Notification for admission in GGSIPU usually starts after 10+2 board exams and for almost all courses you can apply online through their website. All the procedure was online and once you got rank you have to submit counselling fees and partial tuition fees in order to participate in counselling process which was Rs. 40000.

Faculty

3.5

I have mixed views on this. Few faculties are highly qualified and have a great way of teaching and always ready to help the students. Sadly, a majority of teachers are not so good at even teaching the basic concepts and less enthusiastic about teaching. Few are extremely arrogant and don't listen to the explanation even once. I personally had some similar encounters.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
