Entrance Preview
I joined in 2002 when the entrance was through +2 percentage. I scored 97.2% in AP board. I would have easily got admission into any of the B-group courses i.e MSc (Hons) course, but I opted in the following order BE(hons) Computer Science Engineering, BE(hons) Electrical and Electronics Engineering, BE(hons) Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, BE(hons) Mechanical Engineering .
Course Curriculum Overview
It is good. The lab facilities are very good both for Mechanical as well as the Computer Engineering. There is a wide range of electives and we are free to choose as many as we like based on the amount of overload we can take. I would like to highlight the following electives which sync with my courses Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, Robotics, Automotive engineering etc.
Placement Experience
The average pay varies a lot between different disciplines typically the Computer engineers getting the highest average pay. Overall its 100% placement.In 2007 the average pay for computer engineer was about 6 lakhs per annum. Overall this is one of the top 5 colleges in India in terms of the average pay of the placements.
College Events
in the start of the semester in september time frame we have the sports festival called BOSOM. We have OASIS a cultural festival celebrated in winter usually in the month of October. We have various music, dance, fashion shows etc including a DJ over all the three days the festival is celebrated.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Its feasible also we have many merit and merit cum need scholarships given by the institute as well as the respective state boards. In 2002, its was about 17,500 per semester and with the lodging and boarding expenses (which may vary on individual expenses also) it comes out to be about 25000 per semester which is pretty reasonable and similar to any IIT fee structure.
Fees and Financial Aid
Its feasible also we have many merit and merit cum need scholarships given by the institute as well as the respective state boards. The institute itself provides scholarships based on the CGPA and family income.
Campus Life
Lots of extracurricular with dance, music clubs around. Many departments which help in organising the cultural and tech fests. We have a very good gymnasium, badminton courts, swimming pool, indoor game stadium, basket ball court etc. In the start of the semester in september time frame we have the sports festival called BOSOM.
Exam Structure
There were three tests for each course spread over the semester and one comprehensive exam over the end. One or two lab exams at most. Its neither very hectic nor chilled out. I would say its the ideal. For few course will have the mid sem and final sem exams. We also have open book examinations which we consider to be the toughest.
