Good Experience so far!

I had applied for GIM, GLIM, XIMB and Welingkar out of which I got selected in Welingkar, Mumbai. My CMAT score was 89%tile. I didn't have any quota. I had applied for PGDM Core in Mumbai as well as the Bengaluru campus. After getting shortlisted, I had to go through the GD/PI round. Due to the pandemic, my process was held online. There were 2 panelists. The process started with a topic discussion (instead of GD because it was online). I was given 30 seconds to think and asked to speak for 1 minute. It was followed by the PI which included basic hygiene questions, some questions from my graduation subject, and a few on the specialization I wanted to pursue. I really liked the panel interaction, they made me feel very comfortable and it was a great experience overall.

For PGDM Core, we get to study all the subjects starting from marketing, finance, HR, operations, corporate governance, a foreign language, etc. After getting a clear idea of our subject of interest, we choose our specialization after completion of the 1st year. The faculties are really good here. They conduct tons of engagement activities to give practical experience of whatever is being taught. We have a trimester system here i.e. 3 exams in a year. The exams were conducted on an online proctored platform and it was smooth.

There are a plethora of internship opportunities from various domains but not every company offers a stipend. Location is an advantage here, you get a chance to work with some of the top companies. Companies like GEP, Nestle, Welspun, Siemens, TCS, Infosys, Petronas, etc are regular visitors.

Students are eligible for executive placements from the beginning of the 4th trimester. There are a lot of companies (both large scale and small) that visit the campus. Companies like ICICI Bank, TCS, Deloitte, Infosys dominate the placements. Since there are not many FMCG companies visiting the campus, a few students don't apply for the other companies and hence remain unplaced.

The total course fee is 11 lakhs. Hostel charges may add up to around 2-2.5 lakhs. Since it's based out of Mumbai, there are tons of companies that come for summer placements but not every company offers a stipend. The company may be reputed but they don't provide you with a stipend. Final placements are dominated by banks and IT companies with an average package of 8.5-9 lakhs per annum.

The classes are being held online since last year due to the pandemic. It would have been really different to attend the classes offline but our faculties try their best to engage us in a lot of activities. We are also asked to join a lot of sessions by various industry experts on trending topics. We have access to an e-library and also get pdf of some of the important books. One thing I don't like is that we don't have any cultural society or any cultural events that happen here unlike other colleges. There are informal students clubs as per the specializations

For girls, they have PGs. Food and all other charges are to be done on your own. They will provide you with a form to fill up for availing of the hostel facilities. Since we have not been to the hostel so far, we don't have much idea about it but as per the seniors, the facilities are very good. Both AC and non-AC flats are available.

I had a topic discussion round, my topic was how can I use social media for women empowerment. It was followed by a PI which included the basic hygiene questions, graduation knowledge, and the questions about the specialization I wanted to pursue. I made sure to be up-to-date with current affairs. I worked on my soft skills by speaking about a particular topic in front of the mirror to get an idea about how does it look to the other person when I speak.
