Entrance Preview
I wrote the COMEDK exam for the entance into the number one college of Karnataka. I secured a rank of 648. Little had I know that the college's immense prestige and undisputed reputation all over Karnataka as well as India was well earned by them.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college believes in out COE based learning, that means they want to produce engineers that have value in the real world. Not someone who can reproduce a textbook line by line. There is a large campus with a building for each of the 13 offered courses. Any course you take will offer multiple labs throughout. Labs that are sponsered by BOSCH, Microsoft etc.
Internships Opportunities
A lot of companies come to RVCE to provide internships to mainly 3rd year students. They get offers in companies like TEXTRON, etc, with a good stipend around 20k and above.
Placement Experience
RVCE is known for it's placement record. They have the best companies coming there looking for fresh talent. I have not yet reached that stage but they make sure to advertise their excellent record to all the students. Cse students usually get offers around 15 Lakhs and if you have what it takes then the sky is the limit.
Fee Structure And Facilities
If you get admission through CET then your fees are much less, 50,000 rupees per year. But any other form of admission will need a payment of 1.59 Lakhs. Compared with everything you are getting for that price, the most valuable being a quality teaching of how to be an effective engineer in this modern world, it is value for money.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are available by the college based on merit bases, others available by the government based on caste. Even companies provide this opportunity for students from economically worse backgrounds.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is fine, with the exception of the Mechanical department. We get good diversity as this is the first saught after college in this entire state. Sooner or later you will find a crowd that suits your needs and that makes you happy with college life. There isn't much politics in the campus and we are given the right amount of freedom.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are very well versed with everything that happens in the college. They also have a big influence with the teachers, they can provide you with a lot of help if you get on their good side.
Exam Structure
Let's say that they know the perfect amount of work to give you to make you feel like you've actually done something there. Labs around three times a week, they usually have a manual to be filled with readings and required information. One internal exam every month consisting of a quiz part and a theory part of whatever you have learned in that month.
Admission
Once the ComedK results are they set a date for the first round of counselling. It is usually in some random college in the city. So you go for the first round with your head held high, wait in a large line with a million other people wanting the exact same seat as you. Guess what? Only the first 150 people get CSE in RVCE.
