My experience at Amrita , Coimbatore

The admission process was not much complicated or tough. The first step was to apply to the university through their online website. After the registration, we had received a mail from the university for the certificate verification. Candidates will be selected based on the eligibility criteria set by the university, i.e 50% aggregate in +2 in any discipline. Once selected, we will be called for the orientation programme where the details of our course will be explained.

I have a great interest in scientific research and hence opted chemistry , the field where we can carry out numerous experiments. The faculties here are very friendly and are open to feedbacks. The complaints that we raised were always heard and necessary actions were taken. The faculties are well qualified and have good knowledge in the subjects they handle. We are always open to raise doubts and queries. Even though the classes are online, we are able to have a friendly atmosphere. The faculties understand us well and are supportive. Coming to the exam pattern, we have 2 periodical exams and an end semester examination. We'll have the periodical examination in alternate months. One needs to have learnt the daily portions well inorder to gain good marks.

The placement cell - CIR is active throughout and guides us in attending internships and placements. CIR gives us training on various aspects of our placements. Internship opportunities are also providednby whitehatjr, collegedunia etc. Practical projects are given in order to gain more experience.

The university provides an integrated 5 year course i.e Bsc + Msc. So, once you complete Bsc, you can either continue in the same university for your MSc degree or you can quit after your Bsc degree by doing a final year project. There are good placement options here. By the end of 2nd year, students can start applying for internships in various institutions for more experience in researchs and experiments.

The course fees are about INR 90,000 per year. You will have additional charges if you have opted for the hostel facility. With the coachings, infrastructure and comfort, the money spent is worth it. Campus jobs are not available here. I don't have much knowledge about the scholarships provided here.

The campus is situated at the foothills of huge green mountains. The scenic beauty of the campus is just amazing. It is an Eco-friendly campus and has a very good infrastructure. It has a huge library, where you can literally find any books. It has a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The main event of the university is Anokha, it is a tech fest conducted every year in February. Every other festival is also celebrated grandly. You get to choose from several clubs like photography, arts, music, dance, and much more. All the clubs are very active and conduct competitions and workshops very often. The classrooms are huge and spacious. Digital boards are also used while teaching.
