Chitkara University: A better option than other colleges

Admission is something now to worry about. Everyone can get admission. One should just have its JEE Mains score. I haven't availed of any quota for admission. There are no minimum marks criteria for admission to this college. You can get the admission form on the official website of the college. Also, you may manually apply for admission by visiting the college campus. You will be required to fill the form consisting of your basic details like your 10th and +2 marks. You will also be required to fill in your JEE Mains score (this score is asked for section allotment). Then you need to fill your preferred stream. In 2018 admission process took place in Chitkara School (Chandigarh). We need to visit the school for our admission criteria. You need to not worry about admission as everyone can get admission here. 2018 batch had fees of 80000 per sem. 2019 have fees of 82000 and now the 2020 batch is having fees of 84000. So I guess this fees hike will go on increasing in the coming years.

Okay so, Chitkara has a very good course curriculum for CSE. You are taught Python, Java, C++ in the first 3 semesters. Then from the 4th semester, you are taught Data Structures with Java. Side by Side there are also many theory subjects like Electronics, Maths etc. There are a total of 10 section (a-j) and each section is divided into 2 sub-sections, for example, a-1 and a-2. All faculties are well qualified with knowledge of their subject. Talking about the exams. Exams are from easy-medium level. Just note that everything taught in class will be asked in exams. No topic out of the syllabus will be asked. Exams are quite frequent. We have 3 Fa's, 3 St's and 1 End term Exam. If you are a below average student and can spare to study at least 1-1.5 hour a day you can easily crack all the exams.

Placements are quite good in Chitkara. The placement procedure starts in the 6th semester of our college and goes until you are graduated (8th semester). Need to mention that Chitkara hold's a record of 100% placement. Every student gets placed here. Companies offer anything between 3lpa - 12lpa. But you need to study a bit for getting placed. Note that college cannot force a company to recruit students. Companies recruit based on test and interviews that they conduct. My plans after getting a degree will be to work for the company I've been placed in.

The fee is quite high in our college and is increasing year by year. In my batch 2018, we had a fee of 80000 and for batch 2020 the fee have been increased to 84000. Apart from the normal tuition fee college also ask for 10000 extra for the uniform and miscellaneous stuff. Also, there is an extra transportation fee if you opt for a bus service. The transportation free ranges from 30000-50000. In term of placement, there had been a record of 100% placement in our college. I have been placed in OYO for about 9lpa and a stipend for about 30000. The placement drive starts in the 6th semester. College also provides a 2+2 program where you can study 2 years from Inda and the remaining 2 years from abroad and you will be given the abroad college graduation certificate.

Campus life quite good in Chitkara. There are around 2 fests per year. One in March and the other one in October. In terms of books available, there are almost 200 copies of the books which are of regular use. Classrooms are not air conditioned but the computer labs are. There are a wide variety of sports in our college cricket, basketball, table tennis, badminton, swimming and many more. There are many clubs also for each activity like modelling, dance, creativity etc. There are 3 canteens in our college with a reasonable price of items. In short campus life is really very good in Chitkara.
