Best college to gain knowledge and learn new things

To get in IIIT, Dharwad you must have qualified JEE Main examination. The cut-offs vary per year and with categories you belong to. Usually, to get CSE here you must have around 96-97 percentile in JEE Mains. As I belong to the OBC quota I got a seat at 13000 (Category Rank). The admission is done through JOSAA counselling. It's surely better than any other state-level college.

I was quite sure that I had to take the CSE branch, so I was ready to compromise with college. The syllabus here is top-notch and updated with the latest needs of the industry. All faculty members are PhD holders from reputed IITs, NITs & state colleges. The student-to-faculty ratio is 25:1. Two major exams are conducted in a semester i.e mid-sem and end-sem exams. Internally 2 to 3 quizzes are conducted.

From starting itself you get ample opportunities to interact with industry experts. Almost every student gets an internship in renowned companies. A good number of students have interned in Samsung, Deloitte, Infosys, etc. As Dharwad is the centre point of Bangalore and Pune you can always look for off-campus internship from big tech giants companies.

IIIT Dharwad has a separate Carrer Guidance Cell which looks after the internships and placements. From the start of the 4th year onwards, you get eligible to seat in on-campus interviews. In 2019, 100% of eligible student was placed with the highest package of 10 LPA and average of 6 LPA, whereas in 2020 94% students were placed with 11 LPA highest package and 7 LPA average. In recent 2021 the highest package is around 15 LPA offered by Deloitte. Some top recruiters include Samsung Group, Bentley Motors, Intel, Infosys, etc. As Institute has got its permanent campus on-campus placement will surely increase.

The fee from 1st to 4th year will remain the same. The cost including tuition fees, hostel, mess, other fees goes up to 3.3 lakhs per annum. The scholarship is provided with respect to state and national level government schemes based on your quota and financial status. You can also avail of an education loan.

In very recent i.e Jan 2021 institute has shifted to its permanent brand new campus. The campus is fulfilled with all needed facilities like an auditorium, gym, labs, etc. Inter IIIT sports events took place yearly. There are clubs like return 0 (for the CSE department), robotics, quantum computing club, etc.

As the campus is new, you will get all facilities like hot water, washing machines, RO drinking water, etc. You will get decent quality food in mess. There are 4 students in each hostel room. The wi-fi speed throughout the campus is around 700-800 Mbps.
