V.Sri Harshavardhan's Review On GITAM School Of Technology, Visakhapatnam

I attempted IIT JEE and I scored 78 marks in it . I also attempted SRMJEE and I got an all India rank of 30000. And GITAM entrance test with an all India rank of 17000. As my home town is vizag , my parents insisted me to stay in vizag and so I chose GITAM University.

The course structure is perfectly designed containing all the important subjects and concepts needed for one in his/her career .The practical work helps the students gain experience before they complete the course. The course is designed in such a way that the students have adequate amount of experience when put into the competitive world.

The college does provide internships for students of third year . I am currently in the first year so I have no idea about the stipend and other details of Internships .

More than 90% of the passing out students got placed in many companies like Microsoft, TCS , Accenture and various other big companies . GITAM has quite a record number of placements .GITAM had students placed in Indian Navy as well as various other multi national companies . This year 560 students have been selected to TCS. Microsoft recruited 25 students from GITAM Visakhapatnam Campus.

GITAM University has many clubs for various purposes . Some like arts and some for technical purpose . All the club's have fests which have cultural programs as well as technical workshops, seminars on various topics, and many other things . GITAM has its annual cultural fest where students from various colleges participate in competitions and various celebrities will be invited to the cultural fest.

The fees for on year is over 2 lakh which is just above par level for such a good university. Personally concerned , I think 2 lakh is a fair amount for all the facilities and teaching is concerned. For a standard middle class family , paying a fees of over 2 lakhs for four years is a bit difficult .

I am a day scholar, so I have no personal experiences with hostel room or the mess food. But from the experiences of my fellow classmates i can say that the mess food is quite good and is tasty . And rooms must be shared between two people.

There will be two semesters in an year and each semester contains three mid-term exams. So we have exams once in a month ,which I think doesn't put us in pressure . And we have four lab sessions in a week which are quite comfortable for the students and we don't even feel the pressure .

We need to fill the online form for GITAM entrance exam and online notifications will be released time to time . The exam will be an online objective type exam . The ranks were released in 15 days after which we had to report for the counselling where we get to choose the course we want .

The faculty of the college are way too experienced and moreover they create the exciting environment to learn a subject which brings an interest to listen even in the most dull student . They inspire a lot by telling about many other things whole completing the syllabus in time .
