Mechanical Engineering Experience- MNNIT Allahabad

I have applied to various colleges that Include some of the Top NITs and Some newer IITs. I wanted to take Mechanical Engineering as I am having a lot of Interest in the Subject. I am a general category student and had achieved rank within 10000 to get a good Branch in some of NIT. At MNNIT, the Cut off of Mechanical Engineering closed at 13000 for general in 2018, and the cut-off rank is increasing year by year. According to my, the Minimum marks for getting Admission to the Mechanical Engineering branch at MNNIT Allahabad will be 170/360 in our time, which can be taken on the basis of the maximum mark of 300 considering other factors. The Admission is conducted by CSAB, which is the responsible body for NIT admission. They have their site at JOSAA, which provides the list of Branches with category with college name. The branch can be swapped after each round according to your requirement, and you can use Collegedunia as a guiding tool for your favourite college.

I choose Mechanical Engineering mainly because of two reasons, One is my personal Interest in the core field and the second is the reputation and Infrastructure of the college for the core. We have SAE Club, where students do projects and gain engineering skills. Apart from this, we have combined 35 laboratories where we can go and perform tests, and many labs are in our course also. According to me, the ratio of student: faculty will be 20:1. All the Professors are well qualified and have a PH.D. in their domain which will give you a good experience overall. Many Professor also allows to carry out a research project with them. The college is strict with respect to examination, and even in the lockdown, the examinations are held with proper proctoring. It is difficult to pass the exam and you have to study hard to get good marks.

The student in their 3rd year becomes eligible to sit in the Internship session. It depends upon the students and their choice to sit in any company if eligible. All the details regarding the companies and their packages are available on the website. To give you a stat, almost 99% of the total students who have got the Internship converts it into PPO (Pre-placement offer).

We have an Internship and Placement session where students can get the Opportunity to have work experience as a fresher. Students from the third year become eligible for Internship and final year are eligible for Placement. The Process is very smooth because of the hard work and dedication of our Training and Placement representatives. Almost 250 companies visit the college for which the data is available on the college website. The companies can offer a high package which can go more than 50 lakhs. Almost 90-99% of eligible students get placed in the companies. My plan is to get a permanent job in any core company and work for the betterment of the company.

There is an increment in fees from the 2019-20 session where the family income less than 1 lakh also got charged fees around 85000 per year. Although the government scholarship always helps and covers most of the fees, you have to pay the amount initially. The scholarship you can apply for is the UP government scholarship which will cover almost all your fees. Almost all the students get a placement at the end and may also get the opportunity to have an Internship at reputated companies.

Culrav is the annual fest of MNNIT Allahabad, held every year in the month of April. Our college conducts two tech-fest One is Avishar and the other is the Prosang conducted under Student Activity centre. We have a central library, which contains books, journals, previous research papers, etc. numbering up to more than 1 lakh. The classroom is fully air-conditioned, but you have to sit in some specific locations to get the feel of Air conditioner in the room. All class has Modern teaching equipment, where teaching is done through the projector. Our college also organizes annual sports meets, where all the sports teams compete with each other in a happy way to bring out Joy and Unity. It is also one of the entertaining parts of our college life. Our college has almost all the clubs from Robotics, SAE, Aero, Coding, and others, where you can learn all the things and grow your character as an Individual.

We have almost 9 boys and 5 girls Hostels out of which two are situated outside the college. We have got 2 newly constructed hostels of 13 floors and 11 floors each, which can accommodate almost 800 students together. The girl's hostel has also got a new 5-floor hostel which can accommodate almost 400 girls. The menu of the hostel is maintained by Students only considering the constraint of mess fee paid and available to use. We get food all the 7 days, with 4 times each day except on Saturday. The hostel can be registered during counselling, but you have to pay a mess fee at the same time to confirm the registration. PG is also available as in Allahabad many students come for government exam preparation which is situated 2 km from the College. I would recommend you to stay in college because the atmosphere is really good and you will be learning a lot of things.
