Remarks

My first choice was Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi and I got it in first counselling itself. I availed OBC quota. Admission criteria were based on NEET scores. On counselling day, the process was greatly organised. We had to get our documents verified.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose MBBS because I wanted to become a doctor. Faculty is high in number, not sure about the ratio but it is high. The faculty is qualified with MBBS, MD/MS and DM/McH and various other degrees. Term exams are taken at regular intervals and the level is moderate.

Internships Opportunities

5

There are no companies association. After completing 4.5 years of MBBS you need to do a compulsory internship in the hospital itself. Stipend in Delhi colleges is one of the highest in the country. You get to do internships in all departments of the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of the study is extremely cheap which is just Rs 1355 per year, No fees hike policy is followed, It is very affordable. The campus is beautiful with central AC. Various scholarships are provided based on economic conditions, etc. The internship is paid (Rs 25000 approximately per month).

Campus Life

5

2 annual fests are conducted - SPLASH (March) and COBWEB (September-October). There is a big Library with 2 floors and almost all books and journals are available there. The seating arrangements are great. The lecture theatres are comfortable and have the optimal capacity with AC and a projector. College is great in extracurricular activities. There is the various society which conducts timely activities. All kinds of sports are played. There are various societies and social groups such as queerencia (for LGBTQ community)

Hostel Facilities

5

The room is big with 3 seater and 2 seater facility and single rooms too. Bed, cupboard and shelf are provided along with electricity supply. Washrooms and rooms are cleaned regularly. The meal quality is good. The menu has all sorts of food- south Indian, north Indian, Chinese, etc. Hostels are very affordable and cheap. The registration process is simple, you just need to fill the form.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MBBS curriculum is mostly standard, but its relevance is super high because of the massive patient load at SJH. That clinical exposure is the key thing that prepares you for both real life and NEET PG later—that’s why I chose VMMC. Improvements? We need less lecturing and more interactive case discussions and maybe more emphasis on research. Exams are non-stop, seriously! We have internals/semester exams every 3-4 months. They are tough (50% passing), but they force you to study well for the final big Proffs. It’s tiring, but it works.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very well structured and includes detailed study of all the aspects of medicine which is very relevant in today's world. Since mbbs curriculum is more about practical and less about theory we get a really good patient exposure which makes us ready to deal with patient problems in real life. The course curriculum can be made a little less hectic as in fourth year there are 11 subjects to cover so they can be distributed equally in all the other years and teaching methods can be made more interactive instead of professors just reading the slides monotonously

Curriculum of mbbs is very comprehensive and makes you capable of handling medical emergencies, and not miss out on diagnosing critical cases. With the new CBME curriculum by nmc in place, additional focus is also given on the AETCOM (attitude, ethics and communication) module which is aimed at improving the quality of healthcare professionals produced by this country.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is decided by the NMC therefore it is same for all of the doctors. Our college has a good clinical exposure and thus we learn a lot. The course prepares you well, but you always have to learn by yourself. In the area of clinical expertise the treatment of common disease must be taught separately. We have exams Nearly every 3 months, which can be tough to manage, considering that you have to score an average of more than 50% in them . Difficulty level is intermediate
