Remarks
I enrolled in Loyola academy because of its reputation and ability to provide placements like no other degree college. I have not taken any quota because college is completely entrance based admission. I took the course bsc biotechnology for which minimum marks were 65% . No age criteria is asked but I haven't seen any anyone with an age of 25 or above. Admission process was very simple and precise. We should fill in a form available in the Administration office and then digitalise it. A date for entrance will be given where we have to write a Q/A test and based on the results candidates are asked to give a one on one interview. From the candidates few eligible ones are selected and a mail is sent to them to attend certificate verification and if you are legitimate and you are all set. Pay the initial deposit and confirm the admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
My main reason being the scope for life sciences and amazing topics taught in the course. Our college has one of the best practices and hands on approaches for the course. The faculty ratio is adequate. There is one lecture for every 24 students. Most of the faculty are PhD scholars. They curate the syllabus and in depth research is done by the faculty and various methods of teaching are followed. Continuous assignments and projects are given. A weekly test is conducted every week and mid sem and then pre final exams and then final exams. Sometimes we might get the feeling of being buried in exams level of difficulty is high in internal exams and medium when it comes to external exams.
Internships Opportunities
Lavin laboratories are the main provider of internships. Most of them get complete their internship at Lavin laboratories. It is an unpaid internship but still, students choose it because of the trainer and staff culture. They are well organised and everyone is satisfied.
Placement Experience
From the 5th sem students are eligible for placements. Placements are very good at a rate of 85%. My department lacks in placements because we prefer to go for higher studies. I plan to get my master's from a university in the UK.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee hike is with the rate of currency depletion. From sem to sem fees remains pretty much the same. Fees are calculated by keeping the middle class in mind. Cost of study is by par very less. A merit scholarship is provided to each student from the department and an income scholarship for a student who finds it difficult to pay their fees. I haven't personally applied for placements on the campus because I want to complete my master's.
Campus Life
There are not many fun activities on the campus. Just one cultural fest is conducted in the name of resonance. This fest is conducted after completion of even sem. All departments perform various cultural activities and the best ones are awarded. Highly competitive. Classrooms are well equipped with an adequate sitting and a projector. The fans and lighting are very good. Our college gives high priority to sports. Sportspeople are exempted from college fees and given free Meals. Various competitions are topped by Loyola students. There are various clubs such as magic youth, dance club, drama club, environmental club. These are completely run by students
