M.Sc Toxicology and campus review

For this course you don't have to give any entrance exam, this is a merit-based admission procedure. Just apply online and wait till merit is online and on the basis of merit you can get admission. I got 69% in graduation and still got my name in the first merit so the merit percentage is not that high. But 50% above marks in 10th, 12th and graduation course is necessary. They will let you know when can you come for counselling, bring all your documents and they will tell you the fee structure that you have to pay that same day and if you want to take a hostel then you have to fill the hostel form as well and pay the fees.

I wanted to pursue Toxicology because I did my graduation in Microbiology so I always wanted to opt for something that has great research scope. There are 25 seats in the Toxicology program but in my batch, we were only 9 students. There is enough facility to match the program detail. Every teacher has a different set of teaching methods so it depends on what method you like, I really liked how experienced professors use to take classes instead of on new teachers that focus mainly on how many pages you can write for a particular answer. But all teachers are super helpful and will help you in any matter, for me I was living in the hostel so they helped me in all ways. They have 2 internal exams and 1 final exam in each semester followed by 3 assignments and 1 seminar and practical exam. Each semester has 4 subjects so you will have 4 internal exams for each subject that will be of 15 marks, and final exams will be of 40 marks and 80 marks practical.

We didn't get to do any internship because of Covid but in some courses, you get your 4th semester as the internship period. But we were offered to work on zebrafish but couldn't because of lockdown. If you're interested you can do an internship and teachers will help you as well.

The fees aren't much, only 5000 for the 1st year and 3000 for the 2nd year and if you have done your graduation from the same university then you get a discount for that. You will get 2000 security money back once you complete the course. You can apply for a scholarship if you have a domicile of Uttar Pradesh and then you can get your whole fees returned in the form of a scholarship.

There's no university-level fest but they have a farewell and freshers party and celebrate days like teachers' day. There's poetry and debate competition at the university level as well. There's a library in each department and also have a central library that you will get access to once you have your library card. There are many books available in the library and teachers also help with books and notes. I was not involved in any sports activity but there're many sports activities on the campus, there's a huge field for football, volleyball, cricket, badminton, and other sports as well.

Hostel fees are really cheap just 3000 per year and that will be returned when you leave the hostel, mess fees are 25,000 and you will get back some money for the days you don' eat food. Food is really tasty which is not a usual case for hostel food. You will be served breakfast, lunch, evening tea, and dinner. You can register for a hostel online and submit all the documents that will be mentioned to you online and you can choose your room. All rooms are 2 sharing room and you will have a table and chair and Almira and bed for yourself which is pretty sufficient. I have also checked the PG around the campus and the rate is pretty high for the same service.
