Remarks
I have applied for almost all NITs of our country but did not able to get a seat because of my lower rank. I have availed for the OBC quota but in the state of Jharkhand, I have the BC-1 category. I got a seat from the TFW category in which students have to pay 50% of fees as compared to general students. The minimum criteria for taking admission in my college is 45% in Class 12 with PCM as the main subject. One should have a maximum age of 19. Students have to appear for JEE Main exam in which a minimum score is needed to take a seat in my college. The most important thing is, one should be a resident of state Jharkhand and should have Domicile with him/her. The admission process was very much exciting. First, we have to choose the preference of branch through online mode then the result will be received after 2-3 days. Then we have to do our document verification in offline mode where all the documents are thoroughly checked.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have chosen Electrical Engineering from BIT Sindri as it is one of the best branches in our college. The faculties of our college especially our branch are very much helpful. The student ratio is 3:1. The faculties are very talented and have depth knowledge of the subject. Most of the professors are IITian therefore their teaching methods are very unique. There is mid sem which occurs every 2 - 3 minths in a semester and End Sem which is held at the end of the Semester. The exams are moderately difficult with proper guidance by teachers, it seems very easy for us.
Internships Opportunities
There are many internships and Vocational Training offered in our college. Several companies such as Tata Steel and Tata Power offer internships and can be converted into pre-placement offers (PPO) according to performance. There are many projects in the final year.
Placement Experience
The quality of placements is medium or we can say more than average. Metallurgy branch has the highest placement approx 98%. Rest branches lie in 50-60%. The highest package is offered by Tata Steel to the students of the Electrical, Mechanical, ECE and Metallurgy branch. The average package is 3-4 lacks per annum. Overall the placement is good in terms of fee structure.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of our college is very minimal. Students from middle-class families can easily afford the fees. The tuition fee is 12000 per year, the mess fee is 30,000 if a student opts for a hostel and the hostel fee is 7000. On average the fee structure is around 50000. There are some scholarships such as E-Kalyan which is provided to SC, SC and BC students. Scholarships are also there for general students who are meritorious.
Campus Life
BIT Sindri has a huge infrastructure full of greenery which expanded un an area of 700 acres. The labs are very good and have many types of equipment. There are many facilities such as a smartboard in our classrooms and a huge library which have lots of books from different areas. Students can prepare for any competitive examination. The academics are a par level in our college. There are many clubs and societies which enhance overall development. Some of them are Model Club, Leo Club, Rotaract Club etc. There are many technical fests such as TOY, Kurukshetra which empathize with the technical skills of students. Bitaansh is the cultural fest. There are EDM nights and FOYC which is the most enjoyable part of our college.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are very much tidy and clean. The environment is full of nature. The mess food is very good as compared to cost. Each room can accommodate 4-5 students. The allotment of the hostel is in offline mode.
Other Applied Colleges
Most of the NITs in our country | B.Tech
These college require much lower rank in JEE Mains so it was not possible to get seat in those colle
