Remarks
I was an IIT aspirant but couldn't score eligible percentile, because of NTA. Then I applied for UPSEE which is always the last option for most of the students. My rank was around 20000 and in the 2nd round of counseling I got ABES Engineering College with CEIT branch. The admission process went well, on counseling day I had to carry original documents along with photocopies of the same to the campus for one on one verification and also the DD for college and hostel fees. The tuition fees were a bit high compared to other AKTU colleges. I was excited to join the college but who knew what hell I was going to step in.
Course Curriculum Overview
My branch was Computer Engineering and Information Technology, not CSE so I was a little disappointed. Our lecture halls seem small but were enough for 60-65. The qualifications of the faculty and their teaching method were decent but they were not fond of giving good marks no matter how good you are. And this is the biggest con of my college and it is the thing I hate most.
Internships Opportunities
Internships offers are available by many startups and few tech giants like IBM but all of them are unpaid internships.ABES does not provide any paid internships. Projects during these internships are mediocre and learning-based. Some are a bit more practical too like building a simple website. The main drawback is no stipend. And with coming years the condition may get worse so choose carefully.
Placement Experience
Placements in the college are decent. Many good companies visit for placement during the 6th sem like Amazon, Kronos, HCL, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cisco, and many more. Most of the students are placed. The highest this year was 27 lakh from Adobe but only for girls. On-campus highest is around 13 - 15 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
As I mentioned the fees are exceptionally high than other AKTU colleges. Its tuition fees are 1,41,000 and hostel fees around 1 lakh. One can avail of UP scholarship if conditions met correctly but college itself doesn't provide any scholarship or financial assistance.
Campus Life
The campus is small but it has a lush green environment. The annual fest is GENERO conducted in April. All books are available and provided by the book bank. Classrooms are well designed equipped with AC and good tables and chairs. Many webinars and events keep happening in the college from time to time. There are numerous amount of clubs like Technovation, Egnigma, Environ etc run by college organizations and students.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are good. Mess food is good especially breakfast, Facilities in the room are fine. All seater rooms are available AC or Non AC. But for the 1st year, only 4 seater rooms are allowed. Multiples PGs are available outside the college.
