Remarks

I got my admission as government nominee under central pool quota of Ministry of Home Affairs. My father is serving in CISF ( paramilitary) so i was eligible for this quota. A number of seats are reserved from various medical colleges throughout India for the wards of military and paramilitary personals. A special Central pool quota counseling in held in Delhi different from the All India Counseling. Seats are alloted on the basis of your category ( wards of defense personal killed in action, disabled in action, died while in service, receipt of gallantry awards, wards of ex servicemen) and the marks obtained in NEET. Seat is allotted to you in the counseling day and then allotment letter is to be recieved from the Ministry of Home Affairs after 5-7 days from the day of counseling. Then students have to report at their respective allotted colleges with the allotment letter and complete the further admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I always wanted to be a doctor that's why i chose MBBS. Faculty number is very high in the college. We have HODs, professors, assistant professor, associat professor, senior residents, PG student and junior residents in our teaching team. All the teachers are qualified doctors ( MBBS, MD/MS). Theory teaching is through PowerPoint presentations in class and practical are done in labs with every sort of instrument needed. We have 2 term exams, once every 3-4 months then final exams held by college and finally the professional exams conducted by the university at the end of year. Exams are of moderate level, everything comes from the course which we were taught and we are able to answer all the questions nicely.

Internships Opportunities

4

In MBBS every student have to do compulsory internship in last year of his/ her course. All the medical colleges have hospitals attached to them there only you have to complete your 1 year internship. In the colleges of Delhi,Interns are currently paid Rs 24,500 per month for 1 year . The stipend varies as per different states.

Fees and Financial Aid

College fees is very less compared to other government medical colleges in India. Only Rs 1355/yr is the tution fees of the college. You don't need any financial assistance in this much fees. In the last year of course, we have to do compulsory internship in the hospital associated with the college. Rs 24,500 is the monthly stipend at internship.

Campus Life

5

"Splash" is the annual fest held in college in the middle of year i.e., July/August. All the books related to our course with their latest editions and journal are available in the library. Some other books are also there apart from the course. There are various societies in our college for extracurricular activities and sports. Viola - Dance Bellaza- Fashion Jeejivisha- Drama Vecendor- sports Inklings- writing Podium- Debate and a lot more. Anybody can take part in them, they represent the college in various functions and competitions held in college and other colleges too. College is located in the heart of Delhi i.e., Cannaught Place so, we have a great social life.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The old hostel building are not very much nice as the college is standing for over 106 years but the new buildings are well infrastructured. Fans, bed, cupboard, study table and chairs are provided in hostel rooms. Cooler and AC are provided as per the demand of student. Hostels are allotted on the basis of distance of your home from college. We have to fill hostel form and submit in the department. According to the availability of rooms and your urgency hostel will be allotted. Mess food is pretty good. Meals are provided 3 times a day.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MBBS curriculum is mostly standard, but its relevance is super high because of the massive patient load at SJH. That clinical exposure is the key thing that prepares you for both real life and NEET PG later—that’s why I chose VMMC. Improvements? We need less lecturing and more interactive case discussions and maybe more emphasis on research. Exams are non-stop, seriously! We have internals/semester exams every 3-4 months. They are tough (50% passing), but they force you to study well for the final big Proffs. It’s tiring, but it works.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very well structured and includes detailed study of all the aspects of medicine which is very relevant in today's world. Since mbbs curriculum is more about practical and less about theory we get a really good patient exposure which makes us ready to deal with patient problems in real life. The course curriculum can be made a little less hectic as in fourth year there are 11 subjects to cover so they can be distributed equally in all the other years and teaching methods can be made more interactive instead of professors just reading the slides monotonously

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is decided by the NMC therefore it is same for all of the doctors. Our college has a good clinical exposure and thus we learn a lot. The course prepares you well, but you always have to learn by yourself. In the area of clinical expertise the treatment of common disease must be taught separately. We have exams Nearly every 3 months, which can be tough to manage, considering that you have to score an average of more than 50% in them . Difficulty level is intermediate
