Monika Yadav's Review On SASTRA University, Thanjavur

I took JEE exam, i scored 73 in that. I opted sastra because as compared to any other college , this college provides you better education and teaches not just engineering but all the things which will be useful in future too. I opted aerospace because in this field i got to work with machines and planes which i love the most.

It directly doesn't provide any internship but with the faculties reference you can get internship. Apart from internship you also have other structural design competitions such as baja, shipra , SAE etc that are way better than internship. Apart from that we also have an organisation called ED Cell that helps you out in getting internship by calling the other companies.

Placement and job opportunities are really good in SASTRA. If you got admission it's sure that you will get the job too provided you have enough cgpa to apply for the particular company. SASTRA have TCS which every year takes more than 900 students from the university. That the major amount they take as compared to any other college in the country. So you don't have to worry about your job once you are in sastra.

Sastra is a place where you have facility to go for each type of event. We have department wise event celebrations. And on the whole we have intra college and as well as inter college events too. In intra college for cultural we have carpediem( in which every year we have new themes) , daksh utsav( technical fest), feura(sports fest).

For fee structure in my batch it is 45000 per semester. Once in two semester we pay extra 1000 that goes in the fund which is used for the students who doesn't have their father(no fees for them). And apart from that every semester we have exam fees that is around 1500 . It is not that expensive as compared to other private colleges in india.

I m the person who have taken education loan from SBI. It do provide scholarship. If you have more than 95% of attendance you will be given with 16000. If you have cgpa more than 8.0 you will be given with around 7000-8000.

Campus life is good, but you should find your own ways to enjoy it. For that you have 3 common canteens that is canopy, krishna canteen and green bunnies. Apart from this they also have one canteen each in boys as well as girls. It doesn't have any kind of inequality. Sastra is a tamil bhramin college but it take cares of other religion too. It celebrate all the festivals.

It have an alumni association but i don't have much i formation on that. But i have heard from my seniors that our alumni have their own company and they also come to sastra to help out with placement workshops and even take students as an employee. Seniors students are really helpful. They always share all the information we want or we ask for. They even help us out in doing our work .

If we look into the exam structure, sastra have 3 mid semester exams out of which the 2 best score will be taken as your internal that is for 50 in which 10 is for assignments and seminar and rest 40 (20+20) are for the mid semester. The other 50 is based on the semester exam. For the final result they combined both the results.
