Remarks

Shri Pratap collage, popularly known by the name of SP collage, is one of the leading collages of Jammu and Kashmir. I applied for neet but didn't get selected, so I went to SP college to seek higher education. Students can get admission based on the 12th mark. I choose BSC as I had good marks in the 12th exam. There is no entrance or else. Only we have to go and seek admission on the 12th pass out discharge certificate.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choose the B.Sc course because I had a good interest in medical studies. Faculty members are very supportive and have teaching experience of 7 to 8 years. There are about 20 teachers in our class which mean about 15 students per teacher. Teachers make students understand in the best ways. Students are trained to the extent that they can go and make fortunes everywhere. Term exams held two times every year. The difficulty is moderate pass percentage is above 50%.

Internships Opportunities

3

Many companies offer jobs to the students, the companies which most often visit our college are ITI Srinagar, Adidev herbals, Udaan, ibn Sina hospital etc. Students are employed based on the course of their study.

Placement Experience

2.5

The campus is allotted for PhD students for their research works. In my course a lot of students got internships. Many national and international companies often offer various programs offering students a job opportunities. Companies on average give above 20000 packages to students. About 40% of students get govt jobs. I want to study further and apply for the teacher post.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for our college is relatively lower and we feel better when it comes to submitting semester fees. But recently we saw a bit hike in tuition fee which is somewhat worrying. In my course, a lot of scholarships are given and I myself get sufficient scholarships. Many students also get it to a Govt job and make their fortunes.

Campus Life

5

The infrastructure in SP college is well equipped. Hostels are well aerated and have rooms, the college has some digital classrooms, several well-maintained libraries and labs. But the hostel lacks in providing students pure water and also no wifi is offered. Although, the quality of mess and food is somewhat good as compared to other colleges. We have a social group namely, "Self Help And Rise" which help the needy and orphan students.

Hostel Facilities

4

The college has separate hostels for boys and girls. We got a good room with many roofs and windows. Room has fans and lights are well installed. Mess is upto the mark and the food offerred is also good. Hostel forms are to be submitted at the time of registration and a fee of 11000 rupees is to paid. Also nearby we can get many rented rooms if someone is unable to reside in collage hostel.

Interview Experience

4.5

We were 310 students in our class. All the students are divided into various groups and topics for discussion are related to exams, hostel problems and study related. During the admission process, some students sit in groups to discuss the various criteria and feasibility for better and beneficial scopes. I also participate in these discussions and make a great impact.

I have interest in physics so I choose bsc in physics as major subject.. As mathematics is quite related with physics so I choose it as a minor subject.. There are two phases of exams and in these phases there is a lot of time to prepare for the exams.. However teachers method of teaching was quite friendly and soft spoken ..

Students are eligible for placemnt after third year. total 8 companies from local Food and beverage companies and agriculture related companie came for campus placements. Most of the student didnt take offers from the companies because none of the companies were offering more than 15k to 18k per month I also didnt take the placement offer for the same reason and now i am thinking for further studies from somewhere that have good placements Out of 23 students who were eligible for placements only 3 accepted the offer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose science-non medical subjects being MATHS, GEOGRAPHY, and GEOLOGY. Reasons are my interest and love for these subjects. Class students and teachers ratio is good: 40-1. Teachers' qualifications are also good: MSc, Ph.D., NET qualified. Our exams were semester-wise [once in six months]. it was easy to pass if you just study normal and attend classes.

Remarks:

A Good College Even though the college life seems like a fairy-tale to you, it is not. There are so many things that you have to be careful about when you are visiting a college and checking out its ambience. Don’t get influenced by the clean campuses that most of the colleges have; they purposely do it so that people like you get attracted to their appearance and join their team. If you don’t want to waste your hard earned money on the fees of the wrong college which spoils your fairy-tale dream, you might want to take admission in a college that’s good enough for students like you.
