Upgrading experiences through IBS PGPM curriculum

I applied for 3 colleges, IBS, Mumbai, LPU, Punjab, and Amity University, Mumbai. I took admission is IBS, Mumbai as I considered it had better opportunities compared to LPU and I didn't qualify for Amity University as in the written process. I didn't avail any quota. My admission criteria include a minimum of 50% in bachelor's. A candidate should qualify IBSAT exam or else he can also be admitted through valid marks through GMAT/CAT/MAT/XAT/NMAT by GMAC or CMAT. A qualifying age can be 20 years. The admission process was quite smooth. After completing all the necessary documentation, we were given a tour of the Hyderabad campus along with a seminar regarding IBS by the campus faculties and other college alumni. After that, we started with our GD round and finished off with the PI round.

The faculties were qualified enough to provide us with the required knowledge and I am really thankful to them for my right decision. As being an online batch there will always be few cons but keeping them aside, the initiative that was taken from their side was overwhelming. There was continuous class evaluation and midterms were conducted within 3 three post starting of an semester and end semester by the fifth month post commencement of the semester. The exams were tough as one needs to have clear understanding of the subject. Live case studies really helps us in understanding the subjects which helps later helps us in exams. Also the time factor during exams makes it tough to finish the papers in time.

Internship companies include Morgan Stanley, outlook india, SD corp, Icici bank etc. Roles offered were like marketing intern, business development intern, etc. I was offered a stipend on Pay per performance model where we will provided with commission with each product sold by us. We were allowed to choose our own project which was followed by the various tasks involved during our internship program. Like my project was " Impact of marketing supply chain in print industry". It involved both marketing and operations research.

Students are eligible for campus placements from 3rd semester. Companies like Deloitte, shaporji pallonji, icici bank and lot more. Highest packest went up till 50 lakhs and average was 6.5 lakhs. Various profiles were offered like management trainee, sales officer etc too name a few. Placements percentage was around 95% My plans are to join an organization through campus placement

I believe the fees is quite relevant with all the experiences provided by the college and I didn't suffer from any fees hike, although I feel like some kind of discount could have been provided as it was online classes. Scholarships are provided who score more than 7 cgpa starting from 1st sem to last last sem. There are few campus jobs available as mentioned in the college brochure but we were unaware as we have not been involved physically. I received merit scholarship for my performance during my first semester.

Here, at IBS, we conduct Konflux, an annual fest conducted in the month of January. We were unaware of any sport activities because of being online and not physically present in campus. There are various social groups and clubs managed by students like Markophilia for marketing, E-Tarkash for gaming, Parivartan for environmental pupose and so on

The topics of GD were invasions of privacy through digital medium, agriculture sector of India, indian economy, etc. Interview questions like tell me about yourself, about academics, job experience, why Mba, why IBS, etc . Written test would include English, logical ability, mathematical reasoning, geometry, general knowledge. About my experience, After filling up the admission form, you would receive the commencement of date for IBSAT exam. After qualifying in IBSAT, you would called for GD and PI for you enrollment in IBS. Also, you can select IBS campus as per you requirement but you need to attain the qualifying marks for that specific campus. I took up a mock test for CAT and other similiar entrance tests inuding IBSAT. Making a habit of studying newspaper or staying afloat with all the current affairs.
