Remarks
I'm an international student, I was searching for colleges online in India to do my B. Tech, when I came across Aditya engineering college. I contacted the school and the process was easy. I was asked to submit the necessary certificates after which I was given an admission letter. Afterward, the international student's director traveled to my country to meet with me and two others who had also applied. He helped us with the Visa process in the embassy and after a week our visa to India was granted. The requirement was a pass in English Language, mathematics, and physics and a minimum overall percentage of 50% from the 12th standard. The resident permit from local authorities and my international passport. The entire process was not rigorous and they had a term of international student affairs director on Standby to help with all the processes and requirements
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for civil engineering because it was a course of my dream. There are many faculties in my department, we have different faculty for each subject including practicals also. I often go to the staff room after classes to get some more knowledge from the faculties and they were ever ready to help. The majority of the faculty are doctorate degree holders, they are qualified faculties who had gone through some effective teaching training provided by the school management. The examination pattern consists of two mid exams, the first mid is written in the mid-semester and the 2nd mid after the semester ( the mid-exam is for 30 marks and the best mark between the two mid will be taken as a mid mark) the end semester exams comes immediately the semester ends and it is for 70marks. A minimum pass mark of 24 in the end exam is required and an overall minimum mark of 40% is required. The exam is quite tough and stressful as we had to travel to a different college to write due to university rules
Internships Opportunities
Sadly I couldn't avail any internship opportunities as some of the companies said they required extra permission from the local authority to take international students on an internship program. For the local students, internship which given to students in various companies and it is solely based on your choice. The school didn't make it mandatory to go for the internship program
Placement Experience
Campus placement is offered regularly and students can start sitting for placement exams from the 3rd year, that is the fifth semester. Placements exams were conducted almost weekly by a different organization and a lot of students got placement. By 4th year, almost 30% of the class has gotten placements and this is solely based on the performances of students in the placement exams. A list of the placements companies includes Infosys, Tech Mahindra, syntel careers, Wipro, Accenture etc. The highest placement package was 6lakh per yer and an average of 2.5 lakhs per year. My plan is to take masters studies in a different institution in a different state here in India. I'm currently doing my masters
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are on the high side if you compared them to other school within the same district. But the quality of education provided meets the fees. Also considering the facts that we get free uniform, counselling and proper facilities. There are great scholarships opportunities for the local students and the school has partner with internshala which is an online platform that helps in getting students internship in various states of the country and in different field.
Campus Life
Campus life is filled with fun, the only thing I don't like is the strict uniform policy. But there is an annual international students' day celebration which always happens around October. This is an avenue for student to show their social and cultural skills. There is an event called COLOURS which takes place every four years and it is an 8 days event. This was the best fest I ever attended in the college. Classrooms are equipped with marker boards, projectors and cameras. There are decent books and journals in the Library and a nice reference section where you can find at materials on any topics. The laboratorie are well equipped and basically there are equipment for each and every students during practicals. During the colours fest, there a different sporting activities ranging from football competitions to kabadi, volley ball, races, long jumps, basket balls and winners are rewarded. We have the Webcap site which was created by students to keep track of attendance.
Hostel Facilities
The international hostel was great. It was a big building comprising of different flats 3-bed rooms in a flat, one kitchen, living room, and dining hall. Students can decide to eat food from the refectory in the hostel or cook their own meal. Induction cookers, refrigerators, air conditions, and the Washing machine were provided by the management and on the ground floor, we have a hall for meetings among hostellers and watching of sports games. Table tennis and other sporting facilities were also provided in the hostel. The meal in the hostel is moderate but not so excellent. Breakfast comes by 7 am lunch by 1 pm, snacks and tea by 4 pm, and dinner by 7:pm. The international hostel was off-campus so buses were provided to carry us from the hostel to college every day and back to the hostel. The food menu was basic India menus but we got to have a continental item on the menu during weekends
