VITEE, The university doesn't declare marks but gives ranks instead (My rank was 11,220). The university regularly features in the top 3 private colleges across India. The campus is colossal with state of the art labs and research facilities.
Course Curriculum Overview
The research at the university is highly encouraged by all the faculties. Various incentives are provided by the university like FTRI - Fast Track Research Initiative where the students can work on a project for a period of 9 months and use various university facilities round the clock. There are periodic discussions between the faculties and students for smooth working on the project.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is the same as other private colleges across the country. We have a base academic fee of 1.5 lakhs and 30,000 hostel fees and 50,000 mess fees which turns out to be 2.3-2.5 lakhs depending on the rooms (A/C - Non A/C) and mess (Veg/Non-Veg) chosen. There are various other facilities like a gym, swimming pool which can be availed at a price of 3000 rupees per semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
The University waives some percent off the tuition fees for top 100 ranks with progressively decreasing as the rank increases up to 100. Other than that the university offers scholarships to the economically backward class students which they can avail at the start of the first semester.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, The alumni and seniors are extremely helpful to the incoming batches of students. There is an annual alumni meeting wherein current students interact with the alumni.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is a little bit hectic. There are a total of 4 major exams and 3 minor exams during the course of an entire semester. The major exams generally happen at an interval of 45 days. The 4 major exams include 2 midterms each 50 marks, 1 Lab Final Exam, and 1 Final Exam. The minor exams are quizzes with 5 marks each.
Admission
The VITEEE entrance exam forms are available from January and February of that respective year. The exam is online and there are no negative marks. The results are declared in form of ranks; counseling for the students start generally by May. The students opt for their branch and the varsity starts by the first week of July. The admission process is fairly simple with counseling happening in the auditorium.
