Entrance Preview

I joined after 10th Board Exam. There was no interview but the admission process is very easy, the best of any degree college in Kolkata.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course structure of B.Com Hons is very comprehensive. Among all degree colleges of commerce in Calcutta, Sivnath Shastri has the best faculty and course design. The electives like Cost Accounting, Taxation, Statistics, Business Economics, Environmental studies, Marketing etc gave us a very good understanding of fundamentals of business.

Internships Opportunities

No, during my batch we did not have internship facility but students could source their own internship program and get approval from their professors.

Alumni/Alumna

A registered Alumni Association also provides valuable assistance to the College. Administration to cater the needs of the students. Data concerning students’ progression to higher education is encouraging. Students Participation in different activities is also impressive. An active Cultural Sub-Committee organises various.

Exam Structure

Exam structure for 11th & 12th standards are different than degree courses. Half-yearly and Annual exams are held on premise. Final exams for 12th standard are held at another institute/college. For every year of 3 year degree course, the final exams are held at another college campus. The running around to different campuses are the only hectic thing.

Faculty

The faculty at Sivnath Shastri has been extremely sharp and highly qualified- specially the senior professors. Their profound experience gave us a good insight into each subject. The mentors here are claimed to be the best in commerce across Kolkata.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

Moderate College Life.
