I took a GSHSEB Board which applies to the student who opts for Gujarat Board during 12th examination in Science stream, in addition to that I've also applied to the GUJCAT examination. In both examination, I scored average of 74%.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was average, in my opinion. Labs were good in structure, equipments were lacking. I was Mechanical, so we have to learn 49 subjects during our four years course in accordance to our Gujarat Technological University. So, curriculum and other things were similar to the all Gujarat State College.
Internships Opportunities
No, We didn't got any internship from college. We have to find company our self, and we did. But we had to work for free. There were not a single company at our doorstep when we graduated. Still, somehow I managed to find a company and all went well.
Placement Experience
Not a single company came when we graduated, so I have to do it myself. Recession period was going on during that time, so we can't blame the college as we were the first batch and somehow college was still new for the market. Still, all went well and we secured a good job after 2-3 months.
College Events
We had Navratri celebration, we also had annual fest. There were various days celebrated during Feb, technical fest was also cool. Dahi handi festival was also the one waited for. Sometimes, during Birthday of our senior faculties, there were lecture cancellation of 3-4 hours.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It was like 46000 per annual year and 23000 for semester. Exam fees were like 1500 for all subjects. I think it is normal for all of the colleges, but some of the middle-class students can't even afford this much so there was a provision for scholarship.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, they provide whole fees free for the students from lower castes and also for the bright students which belongs to middle class family. That was one of the best thing about college. I have never availed it but I know it because one of my friend did.
Campus Life
Campus life was awesome, architecture was awesome. Girls somehow got better when we moved ahead. Diversity was a thing which I never felt or have seen. Because we had uniforms. Sports and Technical Fest covers all the activities for which you can enjoy the real drama.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel was worst, rooms were small. Nothing regular, rectors were horrible. They won't let anyone out after 9-30 which was awful. And bad thing was food, it became the reason for many student to leave the hostel and stay in PG in nearby city.
Exam Structure
Exam structure was not hectic, but there were weekly tests at every Saturday. And that was sometimes boring for us because it only has weight of 20 marks and topics we have to read for that was like from 4-5 chapters. And for that topic to digest, you have to sometimes read whole chapter which was cumbersome.
Admission
Admission process was simple. You have to give both Board and CAT for the specified board, and after that, you have certain merit percentage and merit rank which gives you basic idea about how many college in the field you want to go will give you admission. You have to apply online and then results will come with the college name in which you got the admission and the field in which you got it.
Faculty
Faculty was very kind to us, HOD was not. Some of the teachers were just freshers so we taught they will have problem teaching us but they handled it well. Director Sir was the best of them all. I can say that when our director sir passed away, we were may be in third year.
