Entrance Preview
Didn't have to take any entrance exams, got admission solely on higher secondary examination results.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is a lot outdated. Some of the subjects taught in commerce have nothing to do with commerce. The syllabus hasn't been updated for a long time. The university is least interested in updating the syllabus in spite of repeated suggestions from the teachers.
Internships Opportunities
In my three years here, no companies have come to hire interns, neither I know of any companies ever to come to hire interns.
Placement Experience
There were no placements during my time and there were no placements before or after my time in college that i know of. No job opportunities were provided by the college and the administration didn't even try to get companies to hire interns. So, no students were placed. It's every man on his own after college.
College Events
During my time here, the cultural fests were organised twice a year, out of which just one was somewhat good. Others were pretty lame. The college hosted some really good seminars and some really big names in the respective fields came and put forward their views. Other than the seminars, festivals were not good at all.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure was very in-expensive even for students from pretty modest background. Even so, The college provides financial support to those who couldn't afford the fees. The fees were just 80 rupees per month excluding any extra examination charges.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, scholarships or other facilities were not offered to any deserved, just the reserved. Fees were almost nil for the SCs and STs, not at all based on merit.
Campus Life
Campus life was just mediocre. Gender equality was good as there were mostly equal number of boys and girls. The extra curricular activities were terrible and not at all present. Sports was held but hardly anyone knew about it and thus no one participated. I didn't know about any competitions or debates that were held.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are quite in-expensive and quite sufficient in number too. Hostel seats are shared by three students per room. PG's are also available quite close to the college and food is also available for home delivery. The hostels could have been a little better and can be renovated for they are quite old.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors were really helpful, everyone had a great bond with them. They help the juniors in every respect. Alumni network is not at all good as most of us have no connection with the college anymore.
Exam Structure
Exams were just twice in a year. The final exams and a pre test organised by the college. So, life here is pretty chilled out. Even though we had computer practicals, but the college didn't have a computer practical room to teach the students. Every student had to rely on outside tuition.
Admission
Had to fill out online application form, select the course and enter the necessary information. Merit list was released based on higher secondary results. Students were selected based on that list until the seats were filled. More or less it was a hassle free process to get admitted.
Faculty
Faculty here is really good. Each and every teacher is highly qualified as expected from a government college, and are quite eager to teach the course. In spite of the course being outdated, teachers took extra initiative to teach some updated stuff required later on in life.
