Entrance Preview
I gave JEE Main in April 2016 and scored 113 marks in total. I got admission into Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida through my JEE Main All India Rank which was 47,649. The main reason that I joined this college was that it was the best choice available for the rank I got in JEE Main. Moreover, Jaypee has a good a academic and placement record.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is apt for the students. All first year students, regardless of their branches, study the same subjects in the first semester. The main subjects are Software Development, Electrical Science, Mathematics, Physics, English and Life Skills. The course gets upgraded regularly, in order to strike off old topics and include new ones.
Internships Opportunities
The college does offer internship for students after completion of their sixth semester. Being a fresher in the college, I have limited knowledge about this subject. As far as I know, different students have interned at different companies like Accenture, Adobe, TCS, IBM research etc. Some companies provided a particular stipend while some did not.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities for JIIT students are pretty good. Plethora of companies have visited the campus in the past years. This year we saw companies like Deloitte, TCS, Accenture etc. taking students from the campus. We even has students getting placed in Amazon with CTC>20 lpa. More than 90% of that students got placed this year. It was a good placement year for most of the CSE students.
College Events
The college holds myriad events throughout the year. The semester starts with the Fresher's Party for first and second years. It is usually followed by an event by the Robotics Hub of our college. This is where first year students have their robots racing for the first place. We then have different events by different hubs like JIIT Unplugged by Music Crescendo Club, Ethnic Dance Night by our dance club-Jhankaar and Execute by our programming club- Knuth.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee Structure: (2016) Tuition Fee- Rs.70000 per semester, Development Fees- Rs.60000 per year, Hostel Charges- Rs.52000 per semester, Caution Money- Rs.10000 (refundable). The Hostel Charges includes food and laundry. NRI Sponsored students have to pay a higher amount. The fee structure is a bit expensive when compared to government colleges, but feasible when compared to other private colleges.
Admission
There are two ways one can get admission in this college. First is through JEE Main All India Rank and second is through NRI sponsored admission. I got admission through my JEE Main AIR.
Faculty
The faculty of JIIT college is like that of most of the other engineering colleges. We have some excellent professors who are ever ready to help students and some who just want the day to end as soon as possible. But this isn't a bad thing since it's hard to find a college where all the professors are excellent. Some of the best teachers are of CSE and Humanities Department.
