An average college with Best placement opportunities

I applied only for NIET Gr. Noida because i heard about the placement opportunities provided here, through my cousin. As I am from general category, i cant avail for any quota. The admission criteria for CS department is: 70% marks in PCM in class 12th+ you have to qualify the entrance exam or secure a decent rank in JEE or UPSEE. Age is not an issue. Although i secured 8000 ranks in UPSEE but i didn't opt for counselling because I was very certain that i have to take admission in this college only, i went after giving the class 12th exam and qualified the entrance exam and got a seat in B Tech computer science and Engineering.

I was a tech geek in my school time, I loved programming and wanted to expplore more in this field, hence, i chose this course. The faculties are not very knowledged but they are fine. All of then hold the masters degree in the relevant field although some are really very good at teaching. All teachers generally prepare a powerpoint presentation for each course module and teach using the slideshow (excepts for maths). There are generally 3 sessional exams(internals) within a gap of nearly one and a half month.

At ther beginning of the 3rd year, the students are given internship opportunities by the college so that they may get exposure to the industry. The stipend ranges from 10-25k per month in Companies like intel , dell, aws, salesforce, etc.

The advantage of being a NIETian is that the college has a very good placement ratio. Nearly 95% students in CS department gets placed. The placement process starts from the 5th semester. In 5th sem, the college starts providing tarining to the student and make them industry aligned. Highest package offered last year was 31 LPA and average being 5-6 LPA. I want to go in a reputed company and work as a Web developer.

For the first year, the fee is 1.40 lacs because of the registration fees and security fees but from second year onwards, the fees is 1.10 lacs + exam fees. Recently the college has gained Autonomous status by the AICTE, hence now it doesn't come under AKTU university and hence it is offering specialized Btech courses . SO the fees is also hiked to 1.66 lacs per year.

The campus life is not like what we have seen in movies. It's just like an average egineering college. There are hardly any events organised in the campus and thats really a disadvantage of being an NIETian. All necessary books are provided at the start of the semester from the college library, if someone wants some extra books, he/she may get it issued using theri identity cards. Class rooms are well frunished, Non-AC, Smartclass equipped and the labs are well organized with thousands of decent computers, fully air conditioned, having relevant equipments and with a huge seating capacity. Unfortunately only once a year, sports day is organised and the class schedule is so tightly packed that we hardly get any time for outdoor games.

One bed, wardrobe, bookshelf and a study table are the only things provided in the hostel room. The hostel life is not really good, the washrooms are quite unhygienic and the food is also average. Although the menu is nice, nothing is repeated in a week so we dont get bored of eating the same thing frequently. For registering hostel , just enquire about the available rooms and then submit the hostel fees and take the receipt to warden, your room will be allocated. If you want a pg , you may look near pari chowk or jagat farms as they are quite near.
