Remarks

It's a well-planned & decent place to study at. You can check various blogs on the internet if you type "GRIET Reviews". Admission process is well-defined as you can see above. Everything is as orthodox as it can gets for an Indian Engineering College.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

CSE is ofcourse the trending & most popular course. And I chose it because I felt I'd fare better at it than the rest of the courses, elimination selection basically. Faculty: Student is quite a good number and there's no concerns there. You'll find doctorates here and there in the faculty and the mix is decent. Exams & Difficulty depends on the individual.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college doesn't offer you any internships as such due to it's busy schedule in the curriculum and training itself. You have to find them on your own and I was lucky enough to find one so early being one of the firsts in my batch during my 3rd Year. When you have portals like Internshala & LinkedIn, enthusiastic interns fret not. Personally, various companies offered me a role as an intern with quite nice numbers (coming with equally heavy roles) and I managed to complete 2 of them. 1 Online, 1 Offline, thanks to the portals I mentioned. The major one being as an Business Development Associate (Content Dev) at Techimax IT Services, Hyderabad. The stipend was around 10k per month. You can get various ones like this if you try. Don't rely on one thing is the bottomline.

Placement Experience

3.5

Right from the 3rd Year itself the Placement Training starts (read GRIET Training & Placements Cell). The eligibility starts around the same time but typically 4th year is the time it gets serious with full-time offers. Campus Placement is obviously offered but if you stay independent of it and have options, it's always better. Oppurtunities are plentiful but it doesn't just owed to the college, it's to your age and potential. The statistics are available on the website and they're right in their own way, but dig deep to know the individuality of it. Some receive extraordinarily high numbers while some get meagre ones. Yet they all count and that's how it is. I plan to work for a few years and at some point continue my education and pursue another degree before I settle into work.

Campus Life

4

This is something which has to be discussed with the peers if possible. It's a very competitive and old-school kind of college. There are a few good fests with our annual fest called 'Pulse' being the biggest. But it was decided for it to happen once every 2 years only and this year due to Covid it couldn't even happen. Other events if everything is fine go around once around every month or so, depending on the type of the event. Take it from me, have fun every 3 months in these but don't expect much or less. Books & Journals are plentiful in the Library, no worries. Amenities depends, it's decent. Sports & Extracurricular are there but uhmm, it is mostly take-or-leave basis. There a lot of social groups and you must join one of them to have an active social life. And when I say must, it becomes a necessity for survival. Clubs like Spirals (literary club; where I was an active part), Rhythms (Music), CSI (Tech) etc. are there for the picking. Websites you can check on the internet while some individual ones like GeM (GRIET e-Magazine) and Spirals were also made recently.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd semester, you are well eligible for placements. Various company's and firms get into some famous like Amarchand and so on. As an intern, you are not getting that big salary offers but you get a good and sustainable amount of money for work. I think the highest package was offered as 18lac per annum and the majority stick to 13 14 lakhs. 100% of students get placements if they have performed well in every semester. I've decided to work one year as a clerk with a judge and then on to do my master's in law from abroad.
