Remarks

IITK is one of the most elite colleges in India. Wanted a college near home, (it's the nearest engg college from my home, 2-3 km away). It has world class education system. Highly competitive. One bad thing about it is the extremely challenging academics (known for toughest acads among all IITs)

Course Curriculum Overview

That's the curriculum I got in branch change, and chemical is better than mechanical. As mechanical has very heft workload and pay is almost similar to chemical. Student: Faculty is 20:1. All faculties are PhD from prestigious foreign universities or greatest Indian universities. Term exams always on time and it's not difficult to pass them. Fairly simple. One nights study is enough.

Internships Opportunities

I applied for DAAD research internship in Germany. Got into Technische Universitat, Dresden. Research Assistant under a prof from the said university. Stipend varies on duration but is equal to 1000 eur + 750 eur / month. Project was based on augmented reality. We decide and choose what project to work on. Get a chance to spend 2 months in Europe.

Placement Experience

Internships offered to around 300 students. Placement offered to 95% of all those who sit for placements. Average package is 12 lakhs per annum. Highest is 1.5 crore per annum in USA. Highest domestic package is 80 lakhs per annum. 300+ companies visit for placements. Details on spo, IITK website. I plan to sit for placements and then apply for masters in a foreign university.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees depends on annual income. If one comes from poor family, no fees shall be charged. So paying fees should be no issue for students coming from low income background. 100s of Scholarships are available for meritorious students. I don't have a job yet, but avg pay received by Chem Engg. students is 12-14 lpa.

Campus Life

Techkriti, Antaragni, Udghosh, are annual open to all campus events. Galaxy, Techniti, Inferno are annual inter-hostel campus events in cultural, tech and sports respectively. Library has over 4lakh+ books with some available in online medium as well. Every Classroom has projectors, TVs, security cameras, biometric attendance, state of the art teaching solutions. Every famous sport facility is available. Even archery, horse riding, target shooting (during once a year workshops). Also have Olympic sized swimming pool. Club for everything, Machine Learning, programming, rubics cube, dramatics, dance, anime, etc.

Hostel Facilities

Yes. Hall 3. Quite old, made in 1970s. Twin sharing basis. 2 beds 2 chairs. 2 desks. 2 cupboards. Hostel auto-alloted to everyone. Meal is good and nuticious. Students decide the weekly meal every month.

The RGIPT Curriculum follows the syllabus and system of IIT Kanpur, so no need to further explain. But the implementation is not up to mark as it should be. Exams are as Mid Sem and End Sem, including two quizzes per semester.

My Biggest reason to choose this subject to I like art related work,so I choose this subject. One advantage of doing this subject is that along with art,you can learn a lot from other social and cultural aspect as well. There is a need to make some improvements in this subject such a a course should be of shorter duration and the syllabus should be made a little shorter. Whatever the exam,the subject should be made a short subject with less duration and should not be of long duration.

Comapny will visit in campus after September. And here alomst 80 to 85 company visit in this college. Likes hdfc, Dabur, icici, mother dairy, wipro, Infosys and many startup companies. And almost all student got job in campus. Last year highest package is 8.5 lacs and average package is 3.5 to 4 lacs. Here almost 90-95% student placed. In starting 5-8 years I make me financially strong and learn about market and condition. After I looking for a startup.

I choose this college becouse of its flexible acdemic structure and its great Alum connections. Also this is the best college i am getting according to my rank and my interest in mathematics. I have Applied for IIT delhi in electronics. IIT Delhi is also a great college but when it comes to academic focus IIT delhi lacks there. Also there faculty administratation is so strict. if a student wants to start something or he/she has a new iniative for the college , he/she will face hard time. So I couldn't make it to IIT Roper CSE branch because my jee adance rank is not that great for the Roper' Computer science. So the Admission process here at IITK is not difficult. You just the originaly document which you have submitted in your josa counselling portal and you need to verify it once here usually a couple opf hours work. Life @ IITK

I chose IIT Kanpur over othe rcooleges because of its academic reputation, research opportunities and strong alumini network. I was also able to get seats in other IITs but I preferred IIT Kanpur due to its legacy . I didn't face rejections, but did not opt for some colleges even after qualifying due to lower research output, weaker placement stats.
