B.Tech- Electrical at Nirma

Nirma is the oldest university in the state and this is why I decided to pursue my BTech here only. It was 131 for Btech & 151st overall in NIRF's rankings of 2020. NAAC has recognised the university with 'A' Grade and Nirma also has approvals like UGC & NBA. For BTech admissions to Nirma the GUJCET or JEE Main score of applicants are checked by the institute.

I was very interested in learning about the reasons and ways of electrical functions and this interest of mine was the reason I decided to opt for B.Tech - Electrical Engineering. The stream is among the top branches of the program. The university has a great team of technology experts covering all different branches like E.E also. BTech is a 4 year program having 8 semesters and the exams are also semester wise.

The internship for our electrical branch were also great and various roles were grabbed by the students of our program. My stipend was among the best ones in the round and I really enjoyed learning industrial aspects during the internship round.

BTech placements of our university are always the best among most of the programmes. The 2020 placements recorded the highest packages under IT sector as many top Industrial firms were present there. The top recruiters of the drive were Infosys, TCS, Dell, Reliance and Mahindra while the average package for our batch stood around INR 8.1 LPA. I was also able to get an impressive offer my Reliance worth INR 9 LPA.

Total fee at Nirma University for my BTech program was INR 7.61 Lacs. This structure Included the tuition expenses and the hostel expenses were additional to it. Students having great academic records or reservation benefit can avail a number of scholarships/aids to lessen their financial pressure. I was able to get a scholarship as per my academic records at Nirma.

The university used to conduct different kind of activities across the year to maintain a equal balance between academic and non-academic fields. The major events of the university are the tech fest, Cultural fest & sports competitions. The library of our university offered the best of books and e-journals which were really helpful for me. The famous societies of the university are Karwaan, Vichardhara, Social Club, Marketing club along with the Mess committee, Student's committee, and Cultural committee .

The reason I haven't opted for hostels was the fact that I was a local student so being a day-scholar looked like the better option to me. As most of the students lived in hostels, I got to learn about them from some of my friends. They used to share their daily routine as well as the kind of facilities the university provides in the hostels. The basic facilities were already there for the students while additional facilities were charged for extra facilities.

No, Nirma University doesn't conduct any interview round for Btech admissions. The students were given admissions on basis of their scores in GUJCET or JEE Main exam. After checking the scores the seat allocation was done as per the rank of the students in the merit list.
