Remarks

My father is in government job, he got a transfer in Tamil Nadu. So, me and my family was shifting there after my 12th. One day I was searching for colleges and found HITS in the list of top 10 deemed university engineering college in Chennai with very good infrastructure, faculties, laboratory, transport and placement. Application form was available on the official website of the college. After the registration I filled the form costing around Rs.900. Admission to this course was on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance exam HITSEE conducted by the college in which I scored average marks. In 12th, I scored 72%. The final selection was done on these two basis. It was unbelievable when I got a call from the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

With ample facilities in terms of software and hardware, I had the opportunity to learn them. The curriculum prepared me to cater to the needs of the industrial organization. Through the program. I was able to apply a design thinking approach to solve the social and industrial problems. My faculty was highly qualified and experienced practitioners. Frankly I have mixed feelings with some faculties being really awesome, others average. But overall, they were good.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internship process is very smooth. I chose internship in marketing field as I wanted to gain practical experience. One of my friends got his own internship through his personal link. I got a paid internship and personally feel it is the best way to learn about the work culture.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements of the university range between 4-5 LPA with students placed in top reputed companies such as Accenture, Cognizant, Infosys, CSS Group, Amazon, etc. It offered placement opportunities to me. I was trained in leadership & communication skills that made me perfect enough in cracking the interviews. The placement rate was great here, as most of my batchmates got placement even before the completion of the program. With more than 450 offers, the highest package that was offered was 36 lakhs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

My course was of 4 years Rs.8,30,500, the tuition fees was around Rs.54500 and other expenses like host fees costed approximately Rs.100000. But, frankly it was all worth it. I will take this experience and enrich it throughout my life.

Campus Life

4.5

There were lot of cultural fests that were organised every year. I participated in events like YARON and YT SUMMIT. There were sports events like swimming, horse riding, shooting, boxing, football, cricket, basketball, badminton, lawn tennis, etc. in my campus. Many clubs like music club, dance club, debate club, aero club, IT club, etc. were organised.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostels were fully-furnished with modern amenities. Hostel rooms was attached with a restroom providing the right ambiance. State- of-the-art kitchen and spacious dining area has been provided for both the hostels and a customized menu caters to the students needs. Library, Hostel, Transport, Bank, Clinic, etc. offers a variety of services and opportunities for students.

Admission

The topics of GD were simple and general knowledge-based. We were divided into 10 and given a certain topic on which we had to represent our views orally. To be honest there were no such preparations I did for this round. During the admission process, we have to submit our 10th, 12th, and transfer certificates permanently for 4 years for official purposes.

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.
