Remarks
Admission is through JEE exams. Further, IIT Kanpur has a rich social culture and awesome education opportunities. The only bad aspect can be that it is situated in Kanpur City which is kind of backwards though development is happening there. But the campus is huge and it even has its own Open Air Theatre(OAT). It has all kind of clubs such as dramatics, dance, robotics, aeromodelling, SAE(cars), fine-arts, etc and all kind of awesome fests such as Techkriti, Antaragni, Udghosh, etc. The professors are really nice and cooperate with the student body.
Course Curriculum Overview
Electrical is a wide field with many many branches such as signal processing, machine learning, image processing, control, microelectronics, etc. So i explored every branch and finally got the best one i want. I also liked electronics during 12th class so i chose this field. Faculty is nice and they give appropriate time to students. I had 130 students in electrical course.
Placement Experience
Placements and internships are managed by our active team SPO. Semester is 7th when you can sit in placements and 5th when you can sit in internships.
Fee Structure And Facilities
We have a proper campus placement season taking place in 7th semester where many MNCs and startups hire the students. Fee hike is generally for the new batch of students and is usually around 5-6k Mess and accommodation bill is around 3000 but it can be reduced via various scholarships.
Campus Life
Antaragni => Cultural Fest(october)Teckriti => Tech Fest(March)Udghosh => Sports Fest(September)Infinitely many books are there in the library and they are properly catalogued. Classrooms have proper blackboards and whiteboards. All of them have Projectors and proper lighting. Almost all of them have ACs too.All sort of sports are conducted. We have six tennis courts, Five Badminton courts, an Olympic size Swimming pool, etc. All sort of clubs are there.
Hostel Facilities
Room has a chair, a table, a bed and an almirah. Other things you can buy. Meal is sometimes okay and sometimes too good. We have both veg non-veg foods and there are some extras for which you have to pay. You will be given an option to be a day scholar or if you want to rent a hostel. Overall accommodation+Food will cost around 3000 per month.
